How to go forward.
I have written posts before but now after two years and am still in persistent AF. I went for an ablation at Birmingham last September 2016 but as they found a clot in my heart would not proceed. I take Digoxin and Warfarin but all the other drugs they have tried have either had too many side effects

A.F. Where do I go from here.
Good morning. I have been diagnosed with AF. for 15 month's. I was offered a cardiovasion in September 2016. I decided against it. As I was so afraid. Needless to say the Specialist was not happy. I did ask if there was anything else he could do ,but he told me that he had given me his advise which

86 with A-fib, next step?
Hi I am 86 and was diagnosed with SVT in Jan 2017 - my heart rate was 150. Then I was told I was a-flutter/a-fib. I was over medicated (metroprolo, digoxin and Diltiazem) and my rate came way down. I was told I needed a pacemaker, then I was put on Diltiazem only - which wasn't enough and my heart rate

Hi..I am new to this forum. My father is almost 80. He has always been very fit, healthy and active. 2 years ago he went to his gp with cheat pain. He had an ecg and was told he was in AF and was at risk of a stroke etc. Within 2 weeks he did suffer a stroke..since that time he has been on bisoprolol

To go or not to go
Of course you will all know I am referring to A&E After a nine month break and foolishly digging the garden thinking I could now do this sort of thing, I was brought up sharply on Friday evening after doing this by a full blown AF attack. I am very symptomatic and immediately the chest pains started

Conflicting advice
Hi, I am at present taking Apixaban and Digoxin for AF. A few weeks ago I damaged the muscles in my shoulder which has been slowly getting worse. I have been taking paracetamol which takes away some of the pain until the effects wear off then the pain is back. A Pharmacist I spoke to about taking Ibuprofen

AF versus Medication.....my journey in a few lines.
I have been sitting and thinking about my journey with PAF and medications over the last five years and have come to the conclusion it was like a boxing match. In the blue corner AF is standing mighty and tall. In the red corner out comes digoxin, weaving and ducking trying to get a killer punch in

Sepsis. Update on "Drama"
Thanks to all who replied to my Drama post. Just a quick update. Still in hospital while they grow cultures to find the type of sepsis. Meanwhile they are trying broad spectrum antibiotics until they identify a specific one. More worrying from my point of view, ( but they laugh at me and call me Dr)

Learning to cope with AF
I have just had my first NHS appointment with consultant and have been told I am on permanent AF and so there is no point in having an ablation just keep taking the drugs Digoxin Verapamil and Apixaban and have blood tests to check toxicity . I expressed my concerns about how tired I felt and how I

AFib and breast cancer
I've had persistent AFib since last December after a couple of years of undiagnosed paroxysmal AF, accompanied by high blood pressure, which was treated successfully. I have had two unsuccessful cardiofversions in January and was scheduled for an ablation in March. I'm on a full range of meds including

Hearing loss with Bisoprolol
I'm an AF sufferer, taking Rivaroxaban and 1.25mg Bisoprolol with 62.5mmg Digoxin since June 2015. In October 2015 I suffered an unexplained sudden hearing loss in my left ear and then in December 2016 got two"bangs" in my right ear combined with a severe headache which still persists. No explanation

Digoxin or Diltazium ?
Hi everyone, my cardiologist wants to add in another medication to my regime she has offered me either Digoxin or Diltazium . I already take Bisoprolol and Apixaban. I know there has been some bad press recently regarding Digoxin, just wondered if anyone else had opinion on it.

Irregular heatbeat
I have been diagnosed with persistent AF but had the ablation stopped after a clot was found in my heart. Now I am severely breathless is this normal in AF or is it to do with the clot.? I take 6.25mcg of digoxin and warfarin.

From nebivolol to bisoprolol
Hello again. I've had a lot of AF events this last week, luckily most only fleeting, but a couple a little bit worse, last week nearly losing consciousness. Today I saw the GP, who has given me bisoprolol instead of nebivolol. My HR was elevated and BP too. If it doesn't work I may need digoxin.

Diet
I have AFib and take warfarin and digoxin. I find that if I eat too much - especially for breakfast and lunch - the feeling of fullness makes my heartbeat fast and hard and this may persist for hours. It is not always easy to judge the appropriate amount of food. Is this a general finding?

AF advice
I first had PAF, then it became consistent, I have had that for 10 years. I take Bispprolol and Digoxin. Warfarin. I also have COPD which I have 3 sorts of inhalers. I haven't seen a cardiologist for 8 years. GP looks after me. Im 75. What do you think? Should I have other treatment or am I ok?
