Inulin and psyllium
I just replied to a post with this information which might spark some responses...... I had to include the graph because it really made me laugh! (PS = psyllium, WD = wheat dextrin) The serious bit: - Inulin is a type of fructo-oligosaccharide, or FOS, that helps to feed the "friendly" bacteria in

Rohmeld syndrome
I have had PAF for over 25 years and I came across an interesting article about AF that cardiologists don’t really talk about. Rohmeld syndrome causes AF and this is due to gut problems. This is something that those who suffer from distended gut through some type of disease like acid reflux, trapped

Persistent AFIB
Hi everyone,I was wondering if I should be overly concerned by being in persistent Afib. When I called my heart specialist earlier this year he said he knows. I am on Bisoprolol 2.5mg ,digoxin 125mg, and rivaroxaban 20mg once a day, which I take in the evenings after a meal. I was never offered an

Frightening hospital stay and advice needed can't go on at home like this!
Feel dreadful and would so appreciate some advice! I follow alot of this forum on AF and have done for 4 years. I find it so helpful and all you afibbers understand how awful it feels. I had AF diagnosed after a stressful time caring for my own mum when she was ill and it started just before she died

I have a question for you amazing people please . about liothyronine blood levels
I am on liothyronine only . I note like many of you have said that unlike other illnesses when we have our bloods checked the level of t3 is checked . So it's a test of the level of the drug we take . Unlike say diabetes where someone takes insulin but gets sugar levels checked and ketone levels but

Failing Heart/Overactive Thyroid
Feeling very alone with all this, especially at his time. Has anyone else had similar symptoms to me? I started with AF about 7 years ago. It was treated with (the dreaded) Amiodarone for 2 years, (worked well) but I had to stop taking it when I developed overactive thyroid. From February 2019 I have

Slow weight loss
Hi I have been sticking to a 1200 calorie a day diet for three weeks and lost 2lbs first and second week I put on 1lbs this last week. I have been more mobile and doing some exercise so struggling to see what is going wrong. I lost 5.5 stone six years ago and was pretty fit swimming 50+ lengths 4-5 times

Permanent AF
Hey I was diagnosed with heart failure in January and ended up in hospital. I was told to exercise and left hospital on bumetanide, bisoprolol and lisinoprol. I had been on digoxin in hospital but came off before leaving. Over a few weeks O began to feel better and got some confidence back and started

Digoxin
Morning I have recently been prescribed digoxin having already been on Tildizeam and Rivaroxaban. My heart rate was around 170 on my 24 hour monitor test. Has anyone had a problem with Digoxin causing severe constipation with. My cardiologist says it does cause this problem. Is it a big coincidence

Coming off Bisoprolol - Worried
I had a cardioversion in February which was largely successful, I'm back in NSR and haven't had any Afib that I have noticed. But I have had ectopics and it left me with higher HR. It's running in the 80's and 90's. It used to be 70's. I was on Bisoprolol 2.5mg and Digoxin before the cardioversion

Can’t Seem to Tolerate Any Drugs!
Hi again, Just an update & a question. I started Sotalol on Sunday and after having chest pain, shortness of breath & a pulse of 42 for the past 2 nights, I called my GP this morning who sent me to A&E. Had ECG, X-ray & bloods. They eventually let me home after stopping the Sotalol, and giving me

Vitamin D and digoxin
Firstly- thank all of you who answered my “scared of meds” post. All the responses were positive regarding taking digoxin for my AF. One more thing concerns me - I have always been vit D deficient and have mild osteoporosis. Dr ignores the deficit and I have been supplementing 1000iu for years

Newly diagnosed AF and fear of the medications
Hello. After years of undiagnosed AF I have at last been diagnosed during investigations for neurological symptoms from b12 deficiency. GP prescribed Edoxaban 60mg and Bisoprolol 1.25mg daily. No advice or discussion. Within days I suffered zig zag vision and crushing headache. Dr says probably
