Recurring pneumonia in PT dialysis
My husband is on peritoneal
dialysis
. He has a kidney donor but we have been fighting pneumonia for 9 months now and its holding up the transplant. He recently had a broncoscope done to help with diagnosis as antibiotics were not working. Inconclusive results.

CKD with ANEMIA and STARTING RETACRIT
I am just wondering if I slipped into stage 4 overnight and now looking at
dialysis
or is this a side affect of the injection until my body become used to the drug. Thank you for any reply. Have a great weekend.

Help and advice appreciated
He has informed me that due to this I need to prepare myself for possible
dialysis
in the near future. Does anyone have any views/tips on whether i can delay having to dialyse by life style changes. I am 62 years old and have had type 2 diabetes (insulin controlled)for 18 years. Thanks.

KT/V ORDERED BY MEDICARE?
This too is confusing to me because an accurate test for
dialysis
effectiveness needs the urine and the drain bags to get the results of the KT/V. Has anyone else been told that Medicare made this request for ALL
Dialysis
Clinics (or just FMC?) PD patients?

Low carb works -slowly but it’s a new way to eat -not a diet it’s a way of life
Read up on it to get a new prospective, if your kidney is only sub-working I’m still at stage 4 but not on any
dialysis
. Anyway what seems to work for me is low carb -almost no bread or starch. And protein at each meal, not a lot but some.

Struggling with depression
I had to undergo countless blood transfusions and plasmapheresis, as well as
dialysis
while I was in the hospital. I was away from my son for about a month, and it seems like during that time apart we just lost the close connection we had.

What do you eat when you don’t feel like eating?
I am very close to needing
dialysis
. On June 1 it was like someone through a switch, I’m exhausted all the time, I have nausea, indigestion, and no appetite. I find that some food goes down better than others. If this has happened do you, what do you find to eat?

He was put on ventilator, kidney

Avoiding dialysis with natural approaches
Hi everyone! I’m new to this community. I was hoping to find people who have reversed end stage renal disease and/or diabetes naturally. My mom’s latest GFR was 17 and she’s between a rock and a hard place. Her doctor keeps increasing her lasix, knowing it can cause kidney damage. When she tries to get

PD -what are the cons (everyone talks about the pros) other than infection?
I prefer Peritoneal
Dialysis
over Hemo and talked to several Kidney advocates and nurses. All talk about the pros compared to Hemo. Except for infection I have not heard many other risks or discomforts from direct patients.
