Hi Everyone i'm a Newbie with Mets to Bone , Lymph Node and Liver?
Started on Ibrance , Letrozole and
Denosumab
and due to have first scan soon , which i think is going to be the scary part. Hearing good things about Ibrance , so staying positive this will work for me also.

Metastasis-free Survival - Enzalutamide.
In 2012, another ODAC examined the results of
denosumab
use in a randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving 1432 men with nmCRPC. This trial demonstrated an estimated median improvement of only 4 months in bone-only metastasis-free survival.

HELLO, I AM NEW HERE
Been advised to used
Denosumab
or maybe get teriparatide. I suffer bad gastritis and have gallstones, so cant tolerate pills on stomach. I don't like the sound of the side effects from these drugs, as I am very med sensitive as are a lot of people wit autoimmune problems and CFS.

Maybe the answer is to not start denosumab?
Seems to be virtually impossible to safely discontinue
denosumab
after starting it. Maybe the solution is to not start it in the first place? Certainly it should not be prescribed to younger patients who may therefore spend decades on this medication.

Denosumab problems
Discontinuing
denosumab
(Prolia) can lead to vertebral fracture, apparently not related to the underlying osteoporosis, but to the development of microcracks in the bones from
denosumab
. Advice is to replace
denosumab
, not go cold turkey off the med.

Have you taken bone strengthening meds since being on ADT?
I'm wondering how many of those who have bone mets, and are taking ADT have also taken or are taking bone strengthening meds such as Zolendronic Acid (Zometa) or
Denosumab
(Xgeva). I've taken one infusion of Zolendronic Acid so far, but will discuss continuing it with my doctor next week.

Denosumab (Prolia) injection - has anyone had any experience with it?
Hi I haven't posted for a while. I had breast cancer back in May 2014 and had a total mastectomy and lymph node removal. Although at the time no mets were found at a later CT scan a "shadow " was found on my spine (this was about 18 months ago). A PET scan revealed it was not active and my oncologist

Bone Health and Bone-Targeted Therapies for Nonmetastatic PCa.
Conclusion: Both bisphosphonates and
denosumab
improve BMD in men with nonmetastatic prostate cancer who are receiving ADT.
Denosumab
also reduces risk for radiographic vertebral fractures, based on 1 trial. More trials studying fracture outcomes are needed in this population.

Please help!
I do not wish to delay the start of chemo and wondered if anyone knows if the injection of
Denosumab
which I am supposed to be having might be sufficient in order to not have the pinning so that chemo can go ahead as planned. I really think it is important to start my chemo.

Preparing for Round Two
My urologist put me on Zoladex (goserelin) and a bone strengthener Prolia (
Denosumab
). The effect was immediate and my PSA plummeted to undetectable. When it started to rise, my oncologist placed me on bi-calutamide and once again it went down to undetectable again.

Would really appreciate any info on Denosumab
The rheum - who has been helpful now suggests that I should go on to
Denosumab
injections every six months - I've read the side effects and they sound as horrible as Alendrotnic Acid, but its a bit Catch 22 - I am as young and active at 77 as its possible to be with PMR hovering in the background, but

Denosumab?
I had my first
denosumab
injection in March, having had other previous treatments for many years, e.g. risedronate. However, I fractured my hip last summer and had to have a hip replacement, so my Osteoporosis consultant suggested
denosumab
for 3 years, once every 6 months.

Haven't got Bullous Pemphigoid - Yippee!
Once my Rheumatologist had accused me of causing the lesions on my lower legs by scratching, I've been looking for an excuse not to have his alternative to ZA which was
Denosumab
, which had fewer side effects about 30 to ZA's 112, but I'm sure learned one's on the forum said with the second infusion

Male osteoporosis sufferer aged 75
Now on
Denosumab
injections and have been for about 4 years. I have lost about 4" in height and the effect has been breathlessness and a slight stoop of the back. A dexa scan a year ago showed bone density had increased so perhaps the medication is helping.

Aged 49, newly diagnosed, - An Update
The medical oncologist said my future included chemotherapy,
denosumab
(for bone integrity) and continuation of Zoladex, as I still seem to be responsive. So far, I’ve had two rounds of Docetaxel chemotherapy and I have 4 left, which should be finished by June. After that who knows.
