Defibrillator??

Morning all, I'm now 7 weeks on from my HA and 6 weeks on from my angioplasty and I've got to say I'm feeling pretty good. I'm doing an hours walk at a decent pace every day, doing my Fitsteps classes again, doing my gardening and generally enjoying life.

The diets going well, taking far healthier options and smaller portions and I've shed 12lbs already. Alcohol is now a thing of the past, although in all honesty for years I've hardly drunk any alcohol for about three years.

I'm still getting the occasional dizzy spell if I stand up too quickly, the BP meds are working as my BP is holding pretty constant at 92/62 when resting and I've still got a few indigestion pains from the meds, although that's getting better by the day.

I'm determined that I'm going to make all the lifestyle choices to lessen my chances of having another HA.......if I get tempted by say an extra portion of food I just cast my mind back to that first night in hospital when I was "wired up" with monitors flashing and buzzing all night, I've never felt as lonely or frightened, it works every time.

A friend keeps telling me that I should spend a few quid on a defibrillator in case it happens again, I didn't need one last time.......it's something I've never thought about purchasing, has anyone else thought about purchasing one or discussed it with their cardiologist?

I'd appreciate your thought.

Have a great day

It sounds as though you are actively making steps in the right direction - so good luck in achieving your goals! It is always advisable to find out where your nearest AED's are placed within your local community, upon calling 999, the ambulance service will provide you with the nearest location \ code to access the device.
