Thermal Abaltion vs Cryoablation
I think I'm leaning slightly more to
cryoablation
but not by much.

Therapulse update
Much relieved to have confirmation from Arrythmia Nurse that they see no reason not to use Therapulse while in recovery period from a
cryoablation
for Atrial Fibrillation.

Ectopic heart beats
I suffer from April fibrillation and in March I had a
cryoablation
and I’ve not had any AF episode since but following a Cortizone injection into my hip a week ago plus my go increased my Sertraline as I lost my wife recently and I’ve been very stressed and low and now I have had ectopics constantly

One year on from Cryoablation
Hi good folks of the forum I’m taking a moment here to celebrate one year on from my ablation for persistent AF. Still in normal sinus rhythm and feeling fine, forever grateful to the EPs, supportive GP, the whole cardio team and all the support I received from you all. I know AF is a tendency I now

In vivo: another cryoimmunotherapy study, from northwestern
I have posted something about another study that is already phase 1 or 2, I must get back to it, where they used
cryoablation
to trigger immune response in prostate cancer...this uses a similar approach with some nano technology added https://medicalxpress.com/news/2024-09-generation-cancer-treatments-cryoimmunotherapy.html

Post ablation issue
Had my first
cryoablation
yesterday at Papworth (including a cardioversion just to top it off). All went well, apart from voice being a bit croaky afterwards (no intubation) and slight crackle in lung starting. Returned home, went to bed, good sleep but crackles getting worse overnight.

PAF advice please!
Cryoablation
last November. So far so good, apart from one 2.5 hour AF episode 3 months ago, which stopped on its own. I have been advised by the cardiologist NOT to take a PIP flecanide (or anything else) if I get AF in future because my resting HR is very low normally (below 50).

Ablation Anniversary
It’s nine years ago to the day that I had
cryoablation
for Paroxysmal AF. For the first seven years I had no episodes at all but since then have had two short episodes which self terminated. I have been off all drugs. The Flecainide immediately and Bisoprolol tapered after three months.

Second ablation lined up
Last time it was
Cryoablation
. Next time it will be a general anaesthetic but last time it was just a local and a sedative. I guess I feel a little bit more optomisitc having been very down this last few weeks and feeling a failure for first ablation not working.

Study Shows Israeli Treatment Could Reduce Recurrence of Tumors by 100%
IceCure Medical’s ProSense uses a
cryoablation
system that uses nitrogen to neutralize tumors by freezing them. The system targets the tumor with concentrated liquid nitrogen to destroy benign and cancerous tumors.

Some positivity from my AF story
Yesterday was the last day of apixaban for me after I went for
cryoablation
3 months ago. I stopped propafenone one month ago and can say finally I'm off any medications after almost 8 months.

WPW Syndrome - extra pathway close to AV node
He then told me that they will do another EP study to confirm SVT and that I can get
cryoablation
, which I will be getting in two weeks. I'm feeling extremely anxious, and that's all I can think about. I'm scared I might die.

breast cancer treated by a cryoablation.
Having a
cryoablation
procedure 1/31/24 at Sloan Kettering in New York City. It will be followed by chemo and other drugs to target HER 2. Anyone have any experience with
cryoablation
to treat aggressive breast cancer?

Face massage three weeks after ablation?
OK here’s a weird one: I had my
cryoablation
three weeks ago and am recovering well. Wanting a treat, and feeling that I was looking old, I booked myself a face massage for tomorrow. But the therapist is worried about doing it this soon after ablation.

ablation date!
UPDATE:
Cryoablation
done, recovering nicely. I had a phone call Friday……. ablation now booked Monday 13th May! At Basildon. I have read lots about recovery and realise it depends how much is done and on the individual.

afib without pharmaceutical drugs
check-ups with the cardiologist and they tell me that I don't need pharmaceutical drugs I have not had any episodes of afib except during the ablation for svt when at the end of the procedure they did stimulation for other tachycardias and they found afib. after a week they did pulmonary vein isolation,

Pulsed Field Ablation in Australia
Much safer than RF or
Cryoablation
. This video from Medtronic explains the pulsed field technology: https://youtu.be/rH8SvEq398M I know Europe has offered Pulsed Field Ablations for a few years now, and the USA has given approval for the technology in recent months.

Failure rates for different types of ablation?
Please can anybody tell me: Is the failure rate greater for RF ablation than for
cryoablation
? I’ve just spoken to a family friend who was told that the failure rate for RF was 30%, as against 10% for cryo. This was five years ago, so maybe things have changed since then?

Still in AF 25 days post ablation.. do I take Amiodarone?
I've been in constant AF since day two following a
cryoablation
nearly four weeks ago. I'm guessing the trauma of ablation is contributing but my AF symptoms are much worse than I've known before.. very easily breathless, light headed, frequent need to pee at night, pounding heart 105 bpm.

Is Bradypnea and Tachypnea normal?
It’s been 16 months since my
cryoablation
and my FitBit has logged a few incidences of bradypnea and tachypnea. The charts also show pauses like I didn’t take a breath at all overnight.
