It’s nine years ago to the day that I had cryoablation for Paroxysmal AF. For the first seven years I had no episodes at all but since then have had two short episodes which self terminated. I have been off all drugs. The Flecainide immediately and Bisoprolol tapered after three months. My BP which was high is now normal and HR around 60. I have been able to lead a completely normal life and enjoy walking and a glass of wine every evening. Prior to the ablation my quality of life was going down month by month.
Please do not be put off by the negatives posted here. Most people leave after successful ablation so I thought I would give an example of how ablation can transform a life.
Regards to all,
Peter

Well done for posting - you are correct, the people who linger are the ones who have suffered effects or still have an arrhythmia of one sort or another. Even though my experiences had unforeseen complications I have not ever regretted taking the ablations.
Always great to see posts like this, mine was 7 months ago today (see my bio). I still feel it’s a bit early to tempt fate by shouting success but I hope I will be here in 9 years time with a similar update. I am glad I went for it but doubt I would have made the decision without what I’ve learnt on this forum. Thanks for posting.
My ablation was 10 months ago and like you, I found the help I received from this forum helped me make up my mind to go ahead with it. Just had bad ectopics for a while, but they’ve eased off. I am now trying to stop the Sotalol. Doing it very slowly, as I’ve been on that drug for quite a few years. I have to take Edoxaban for life though. I like to stay on here and answer anyone, if I can be of help. Lovely to hear good news stories.
Glad to hear things settled down for you, for anyone reading I think the blanking period of 3 months should be thought of as very flexible and we can still be improving for many more months afterwards. Good luck with getting off the sotalol.
