Desperate, Can You Help Me?
I was on
Coumadin
for 10 yrs and had daily nausea the whole time and often had nosebleeds. Also could not control my inr, which ranged from 2.0 to 6.5 no matter what I ate. The drs kept telling me I have to take
Coumadin
or I will die.

My oh my, good news, neurologist gave OK to start Coumadin....
I have concerns, because it is not to treat Hughes, bit because of, lupus anticoagulant and high homocystene in blood labs, plus history of stroke and TIAs. So, I am thinking whatever gets me to being on a blood thinner......... Should I still seek expert on Hughes Syndrome, or see how it goes,.????

It takes 2-3 days for Warfarin/Coumadin adjustments to affect my INR. How long does it take for a bowl of green vegetables to affect INR?

Has anyone had problems with marevan?
Recently, I had to take Marevan for a couple of weeks because
Coumadin
was unavailable in Petropolis and Rio de Janeiro's drugstores. I thought maybe if I took Marevan in the same dosage of
Coumadin
, I would minimize the risks of new clotting. I could never be more wrong.

How long does it take for foods to affect your INR?
I have figured out that it takes 2-3 days for my body to respond to an increase in
Coumadin
, but I'm wondering how long it takes for foods to affect your INR. For example, if I were to sit down and eat a huge spinach and Kale salad, how long would it take for my INR to drop? :)Michelle

Are there any restrictions or concerns with exercising with APS?
I finally received a diagnosis 2 months ago, and now that I'm on
Coumadin
, I feel so much better! For the past 2 years, though, I have done next to nothing physically. I am able to walk and cook and take care of myself now, but I am weak and need to get my strength and endurance back.

Vitamins & Other Supplements
I don't want to onstantly be asking my doctor for meds when I really don't wnat to take presciptions unless necessary, like my
coumadin
and things for high blood pressure. I just would love to know if any of you go this route? Thanks!

What affects your INR level when taking Coumadin/Warfarin?
I know that vitamin K and spinach are no-no's. What else might affect it? I'm new and learning! Thanks! :)Michelle in CA

Diagnosed in 1995
I've since had 2 small strokes & 1 major due to
coumadin
being high. Was sent to UNC Chapel Hill for brain surgery but they were able to avoid it. That's my story. Oh, I could add more but it's already long enough. I hope you enjoyed my story, sorry it took me so long to write it out.

Cause of GERD
But that doesn't sound quite right, since
Coumadin
should resolve that if, indeed, blood flow is the issue. And anyway, I thought GERD arose as result of both overproduction of stomach acid due to diet and incontinence (inability to close) in the lower esophageal sphincter.
