Cystoscopy - advise please
Good Morning! My husband has just received his letter calling him to hospital for the above procedure in a couple of weeks. He uses ambulatory oxygen so we will take that with us and I have noted it says that the "nurse will talk you for the procedure" - doubtful will get a wheelchair. Just wondered

Amiodarone can affect your lungs!
I was looking though some of my old and new drugs to see if there was any links to the many conditions and reactions I have and found this. Drugs such as nitrofurantoin, amiodarone, bleomycin, and many others can rarely cause interstitial lung disease. Do not panic if you are on them but worth talking

Joyce: A lung transplant saved me from IPF
Now here's a feel-good story to start IPF Week. Joyce had IPF and was waiting for a lung transplant. Waiting... and waiting... and waiting.... until... "When the phone rang at 5.20am New Year’s Day I awoke and instantly knew it was the call I’d been waiting almost a year for." Read her story here:

Dads still fixing me :) + 2 short Video's (Birds and Hereford cows), not a swan in sight!
After a visit to my Dads today I returned home with a big bag of his home grown Tomatoes, cucumbers, and a bottle of a neighbors apple and ginger juice. He's building me up the best way he knows to give me a better chance of surviving the possible lung transplant operation in the future :) . While I

IM SO SICK OF THIS EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER
Some of you guys in my hu family know i had my first assessment at harefield in September and they said i would be offered a double lung transplant. I was shocked they said that because everyone including the transplant coordinator told me i would not be given a definite answer on the first assessment

Stigma of lung cancer.
After reading an american article on the web, I thought how similar America is to the UK. You may find this interesting. Being diagnosed with lung cancer carries a certain stigma. ”How long did you smoke?” “I didn’t know you were a closet smoker.” “Too bad he didn’t quit smoking sooner.” Unlike the

The Man at the QE, E' Say Yes!!!!!!! :)
Yesterday was a very big day for me, I was off to the QE to see my transplant consultant to see if my wound from an abscess removal operation had completely healed. I had the operation on April 3rd and have been suspended off the transplant list for a lot longer because of the high risk the abscess infection

What happen if one is testing EGFR negative? Is there still hope in life without these targetted therapies?
Hi there, has anyone taken Iressa which was subsequently proven ineffective from CT scan after the first cycle i.e. the tumor continues to grow instead of shrinking. Could this be due to EGFR negative and is a second biopsy needed? What type of treatment other than chemotherapy is suitable for this category

Benefits of zinc
I have bought some supplements: vitamin C and zinc. I wasn't very clear on the benefits of zinc, so I looked it up. it's seems quite a good booster for the immune system. As we are in autumn, and people will start to cough shortly (!), I wanted to make sure that I don't suffer this autumn and will avoid
