New here....my story so far
In July, I had a
collapsed
lung
, which led to lung surgery, which led to a diagnosis of a rare lung disease. My goal is to be able to run 5k within a respectable time so I started the Couch to 5k in October and I am absolutely loving it.

Immunotherapy
Hi I'm new here. My husband has just been diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and waiting to have the treatment. It will either be Chemotherapy or Immunotherapy but can't have the immunotherapy until they get a test back to see if he can have it. So my question is: Why can't all lung cancer sufferers

An article on food in STAT
Gosh, I write an article on food and lung cancer, and it seems like there are all kinds of other articles on the subject popping up. Here is a long and interesting article about two chefs attempting to create food that cancer survivors with damaged taste buds can taste. https://www.statnews.com/2016/

What to expect?
Hi all, My mum has had a cough for 4-5 months, sometimes productive, sometimes not. Normally the colour is white, but it is occasionally green. She had a chest x-ray and this has come back clear, she also had spirometerty test, which come back ok, not amazing. She got 66% and the 'OK' is 70% apparently

Food, Glorious Food: Lung Cancer, Food, and Weight Loss
“Please step onto the scale… You’ve gained 2 pounds since your last visit.” Me, three years ago: [internal dialogue] “Gosh darn it! I already watch every bite I eat! Does this mean I have to give up chocolate????” Me, last week: “Wow, that’s great news!” Like so many of us, I’ve spent my whole life enslaved

Hi all, I feel like things are close to normal again, yesterday and today I made it pretty much all day at work. I spent all day Sunday freaked out over coughing up blood and a small piece of tissue. Finally I got a call back from my oncologist on Monday and he seemed a lot less concerned about it

Radiation therapy
My dad went in for his consultation today for radiation therapy to his chest and a lower dosage to his brain for preventative measures. I wasn't able to go to the appt because we live in different states and I had to work today. So many questions I have about radiation. My dad told me he needs to have

Feeling the difference...and the big dream.
Just completed the second run of Week 5. I didn't know whether I would get this far when I started out. My cardio-vasular fitness is probably better now than it's been in years (rare lung disease not withstanding!). What has definitely helped is that I've started swimming twice a week, about 20 lengths

New & Worrying
This is my first post. Just found out today my elderly dad definitely got lung cancer. It's a tumour in his lung. We have been to a respiratory clinic, they are now referring him to oncologist. He's had PET scan & bronchoscopy. Apparently has spread to lymph nodes in neck but nowhere else. He hasn't

Advice for strange symptoms
Hi, I am looking for advice. In Dec 2014 I felt so tired I went to my gp. I discovered that I had lost weight. In fact I had lost muscle and gained some fat. I did a bit of research and found that small cell lung cancer can have some strange symptoms. My fatigue continued and in Oct 2016 I managed to
