Patients experience with RATS/VATS Lung surgery??
I have been frantically trying to decide whether to proceed with my scheduled surgery this month. It seems like it is the most logical choice, but Im afraid it is too risky and recovery is difficult. Can anyone share their hospital and/or home recovery experience with their surgery? Any advice?

Seems a long time
My husband was diagnosed with Right upper lobe T3 N0 M0 non-small cell lung cancer in June 2021. Because he also has COPD they said they couldn’t operate so he was given 20 sessions of radiotherapy in October 2021. Since then he hasn’t seen his oncologist at all, just a phone call every 12 weeks. He

Should I ask for a new assessment
I was diagnosed with terminal squamous cell
lung
cancer last October. My upper left
lung
had
collapsed
with a 10cm tumour and the tumour was blocking the lower lobe and caused it to overinflate.

ALK lung cancer: First sign of progression?
Hi. My brother has lung cancer and I wrote about it in the post below. He has taken Alectinib for few months and the results has been great so far. However he just received result from his latest Xray and the comment the doctor wrote online was that he can see "some slightly prominent lymph nodes in

Hello, I'm new on here
The top of his left
lung
has
collapsed
because of his cancer. Up to now he has had a PET CT and bronchoscopy/EBUS,which was 11 days ago. How long does it normally take for a patient normally to receive an appt with the Oncologist.

Thankyou for all your good wishes. Well my first visit to Harefield was quite overwhelming. I only learnt as we were traveling down on Tuesday that I wld be having 'some' tests. Some! A lung function test, ecg, chest xray, blood pressure and sats, urine test and I couldn't count the number of vials

Officially on the lung transplant waiting list
Last Friday I made the decision to join the lung transplant waiting list after months of tests, conversations with the various medical teams and a whole lot of soul searching. Lung transplant was an option that I have thought about from a very early stage after my diagnosis and when the time came I think

This is just such a small portion of her story, I’ve left out so much detail and I make it sound so simple but really my wee girl has to experience the feeling of being stabbed in her back multiple times a day for days on end never knowing when it will stop or even if her

Setback
I had different blood tests, an xray and another CT scan to check for blood clots which fortunately proved negative and my
lung
had not
collapsed
again (as I feared), so it was assumed I had an infection and I received antibiotics which have helped a little bit.

Immunotherapy and the 2 year limit
There are many people on here worried about what happens when they or their loved ones 2 years are up with their immunotherapy treatment. I was the same. My mum was put on this when chemotherapy didnt work on her stage 4 NSCLC and it amazingly shrunk her cancer by 80% in just a few months. When it

The oncologist wants to do a PET and CT scan the same day. Is it necessary to do both?
The oncologist wants to do a CT and PET scan on the same day this month. My husband is now stage IV NSCLC and had both these tests done in February. They have not started any treatment yet for him . He only saw the oncologist two weeks ago. He also ended up with congested heart failure late last year
