In the gutter
Hi, I may aswell be lying in a gutter. I had an incidental finding on my bloods of 10.3 (range 12-22) of Free Thyroxine TSH at 2.39 (range 0 .27 to 4.2 These results have been occurring since 2018 practically identical yet when the 2018 one was repeated it had went back into range free Thyroxine 12.9

I am not sure whether it was the consequence of my application of reverse psychology or my-on the whole-affable GP suddenly having an epiphany, but the last couple of telephone consultations that I’ve had, have been quite constructive. I did however have to collect all the toys that were left littered

High TPO antibodies and developing hypothyroidism
Hi all sorry if this is a silly question but is it inevitable to develop hypothyroidism with TPO antibodies >1000 I understand the process of attacks on the thyroid and reducing its ability to function. But also read not everyone with antibodies go onto develop hypothyroidism.

Antibodies
Which antibody test suggests that the thyroid gland is being damaged/ will deteriorate over time? Is that the TPO or the thyroglobulin antibodies test?

Mixed results? Confused?
Hi Everyone, Thyroid results initially given to me as Free Thyroxine 10.3 Range 12-22 TSH - 2.39 of range 0.27 - 4.2 I am having TPO checked with these again on Monday. I am confused, I thought TSH would be a high reading if the free thyroxine is below range as such to pull the thyroxine level back

Does NHS allow T3 blood test?
Does the NHS do any T3 tests? So far I only had T4, TSH and TPO from Hospital endocrinologist Is there any point asking for a T3 tests or is that out of policy?

Should you still have out of range TPO antibodies on thyroxine?
Hi everyone, this has puzzling me for some time. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease 10 years ago and put on synthetic T4 (levothyroxine); TPO antibodies were not checked prior to taking thyroxine but were 8 months down the line. Normal range <34, mine were 134. I was wondering if TPO will continue

Myo-inostiol and Selenium for Hashimoto's (2017)
Interesting read: Myo-inostiol and Selenium for Hashimoto's (2017) You might already know that selenium can be very helpful for Hashimoto’s. It’s an antioxidant that supports the production of glutathione. Selenium is helpful in reducing anti TPO antibodies. This study compared patients using selenium

Following on from my last post…..
Hi all So I finally got to speak with my GP regarding the consultant prescribing me a trial of carbimazole. He said the reason (that he also supports) to prescribe me carbimazole is that I am hyperthyroid with indications of it being autoimmune in nature. I’ve had thyroid issues and TPO antibodies sky

Is it normal for TSH to change this much so quickly?
Hey everyone, I’ve posted here before and received some great help. I’m currently receiving loaded doses of B12 after having to really push my doctor to acknowledge my low b12 levels (don’t get me started on that!) I asked my doctor about my thyroid results and he said not to worry about them but I

Weight Gain on levothyroxine after 18 months
I was put on levothyroxine 18 months ago at 25mg then upped to 50 and then 75mg 3 months ago but over the last 18 months I have put on 4 stone. My BMI is now 40 yet the Dr does not seem to consider this an issue. I stopped taking the meds for a week and managed to lose 2lb doing nothing different so

Anyone have raised Tg antibodies only?
Ive been placed by my doctor under the umbrella of Hashimoto's due to having another raised Tg antibody at 412. TPO are negative and always have been. Although normally a marker for cancer after having been in remission, from one article i read it points to atrophic thyroiditis..my thyroid is small and

Abnormal TPO at 8.70?
I had a blood test at a central London private lab recommended by the Thyroid UK website (Phoenix group) and the results was out of the range according to the lab normal range. TPO came at 8.70 for a normal range of 0-5.61 iu/mL according to the results. My GP is claiming that my TPO is fine because

Graves or Hashimoto’s or something else??
So I have over the years, and recently, had elevated TPO antibodies, tons of hyper/hypo symptoms and blood tests that fluctuate. My TSH is often low and even out of range and occasionally my Free Ts have been out of range high. I’ve always assumed I had hashimoto’s but never been bad enough on bloods
