Hypothyroidism & statins
My GP is pressurising me to take a statin. My cholesterol levels are all within range. I do have P-Afib treated with Verapamil & take a blood pressure tablet. I notice that Hypothyroidism and statins on the NHS website are not advised. Appreciate any comments, research etc. Thank you! Here is the link

is this too many?
I have just worked out that since I was prescribed Verapamil, middle of June 2023, as a Pip, I have had 12 Af episodes when I have taken the pip (which sorts me out) I know I have had shorter af episodes since being on nebivolol, not reaching a high rate - I think the highest has been 138, maybe 142

Statins for paroxysmal Atrial Fibulation?
Hello Everyone. I have P-Afib which is well managed with Verapamil 120mcg. I take Ramiprimil 5mg and Apixaban. I'm lucky my Afib has remained mild once on this treatment for the last two /three years - hopefully will stay that way- providing I keep taking Verapamil. I get the odd flutter for a few seconds

hello to everyone from New Mexico, US. I am finding out more about heart issues here on this forum than from my EP and cardiologist combined! Thank you all. I am 69 and had one of the first open heart surgeries done in Los Angeles at 9 years. ( for an ASD) There is still a small leak but mostly corrected

Pramipexole vacations
I am currently completely off Pramipexole for 7 months, after being on it for 6 years. It was the only medication that gave me excellent relief and no side effects, except one sudden episode of augmentation . All the augmentation symptoms have resolved, but the symptoms of course are daily and last

Oximeter
The reading on my Pulse Oximeter was BPM 56 and Oxygen 21 and I have a dull pain on the right hand side of my chest close to my armpit. I can't go to my local hospital after insidents where I don't feel safe and I do not have a GP. Is there anything I can get from a pharmacy. I am in the UK. Thanks

Beta blockers and nitrates
Because my husband mentioned chest pain/tightness at his diagnosis of PF early September, he was referred for a treadmill test. However at the appointment, the specialist nurse declined to do one as she said it would make him too breathless. Instead he was referred for a stress echo test where they inject

Cold 🥶 🧊 water 💧 therapy anyone?
Hey AF team Been a while since I posted anything. Quick update all going AF well. AF free for 8 months. Did the same last year. Seem to get a few months of lots of AF converted by PIP (300 mg of flec). Surgical ablation (surgical because of atrial occluder) is still on hold until I press go. Feeling

get your body checked
I had anxiety for 18 years and had all the symptoms you could talk about on here. I been with this group 3 years. And a lot of people helped me but. The best Insurance is a cardiologist I passed every stress test X-ray ecg And ultrasound. I finally got a hart catheter and they had one artery of a branch

Hi my

Weight Loss
The first ortho suggested I not listen to my pcp or nutritionist about a diet for
ckd
and eat as much protein as I could so I could lose the weight fast (I had lost 82 pounds on keto before the
ckd
diagnosis.)

Pins and needles feeling
It all started on Tuesday. I had a bloated feeling and thought it was trapped wind? Took a Windeze and it seemed to help that feeling but then got a tingling in my face which was weird this then progressed to my shoulder's, arms and chest. It then seemed to ease and I just carried on. It was an effort

Tailbone coccyx pain- unable to get relief.
Hi all, been dealing with tailbone pain for about 3 years now. Have been a plethora of doctors who have tried different things but nothing helps. Latest I had a ganglion impar shot that did nothing for the pain. This doctor said there's nothing more he can do and other doctors keep passing me around.
