b12 keeps dropping ferritin
Hi Friends, Has anyone had success raising and maintaining ferritin after it dropped from b12 injections? I first caught the iron issue in October, after shots all last summer. I tried many supplements until landing on the least bad offender to my stomach. I got my ferritin to 33, but it dropped

Nitrofurantoin - good or bad?
Not sure that this is posted in the best place, but I don't seem to be able to access any other links atm. I have been prescribed this antibiotic for traces of blood in urine just over 2 days ago. 50mg to be taken at night. Only on the third dose so it's early days, but had quick urine test done

Hi, just want to give an update on an experiment I've alluded to in posts on a few others' threads. I recently was able to wean completely off my pramipexole Rx over the course of about a month. (I had been taking it for 6-7 years, increasing over time b/c of augmentation, from .12 mg nightly to about

iodine to take it or not?
could someone clear up the iodine issue with me? I was under the impression that it was bad to take iodine. Due to trying for a baby I have resorted to a private nhs gp who specialises in hormone health. She put me on a methylated pregnancy multivit containing iodine as well as referring me to a functional

Thyroid Test Results
As a result of my GP pressurising me to reduce Levothyroxine intake I have had tests carried out privately. My weight justifies the dosage of 200mcg daily that is currently prescribed. (1.6mcg/kg) However this dosage results in incredibly low TSH levels. My GP seeks to raise TSH levels. Results are

Weaning off proprananol
Hello everyone,I have Graves disease and had a thyroidectomy in June 2022.I am having conversion problems ,even with a very over-range T4.I know proprananol can reduce T4 to T3 conversion and am looking to try and wean off it. My GP put me on 20mg 3x a day as a migraine preventative. I also take 20mg

Just been diagnosed with Hashimoto's and quite a good positive she said 1260.
Hi All Just wanted to thank everyone for the amazing advice on this group. As I explained before I've had vertigo/dizziness and lots of other symptoms for nearly 2 years now. With loads of advice from this page with regards getting private blood tests done, pushing my Gp even though they said I do

Teva shortage?
I love Teva thyroxine, it seems to be the only one I function well on. After having lots of problems getting it from my surgery pharmacy I switched to pharmacy2you and it has arrived within 2 days for the last 6 months. However this month it is 2 weeks late and I will run out soon and in phoning them

New test results after NHS ones
Hi I got some good advice after being dispirited last week by 'normal' results from my GP. I got a set done by Monitor my health, hope you can read them. My question is, should I go back to my GP and ask for an increase in Levo from 75mcg to 100mcg or is that not going to help my T3 - which is presumably

Thoughts on thyroid labs please
Hi all 32 year old son seems well enough but with a tendency to gain weight although he’s not obese. He’s reasonably active. Not on thyroid replacement He has core nutritional deficiencies despite eating very well but working on correcting these, as per advice on here Blood drawn 2pm, so TSH likely

Feeling pathetic...
Sitting at the hospital in the midst of a synacthen test and feeling sorry for myself. So I thought I'd vent on here to a group of lovely folk who understand what it's like to appear normal on the outside but struggling on the inside! Like most on here I hate having to admit I can't do what I used to

NHS Health Check Drives
Had hypothyroidism for 20 years and pre-diabetes for about 12 years which I've managed to keep under control, touch wood. Now my GP surgery has insisted I attend a 60 Day Care Plan or some rubbish probably driven by Government bonuses as they've never batted an eyelid about test results until now and

Tight chest T3+ T4 fractures
I have T3 and T4 vertebrae fractures. Sometimes (like this afternoon) I feel tight chested. Could that be because of the fractures (and not a heart warning!)? I am looking for others’ experience, not advice. Thank you.

Does anyone know why, in people using NDT, the TSH readings tend to be very low, even when the T4 and T3 are within normal ranges? My GP is concerned that my low TSH readings mean I am at risk of osteoporosis, but since I am not hyperthyroid I don't understand why. My T4 and T3 are within reference
