Endarterectomy
Just had 1 year duplex scan after my carotid endarterectomy and expected the vessel to be clear. Scanning operative drew pic for my surgeon showing some residual disease on scar site. I was shocked and terrified after all I have been through. Has anyone else experience to impart? It could be so helpful

I was doing so well, going to rehab exercising etc All of a sudden have developed severe new pain in my lower ribs and middle of my sternum, so bad it takes my breath away! I’m still a cocktail of high strength pain relief following the surgery. Saw the surgeon well his junior last week, but he didn

November 2022 I had a stroke and was told it was caused by Atherosclerosis in the carotid artery. On the day of the procedure things didn't go to plan, the stenting did not happen because of the

pre-op
I’m on waiting list for CABG. Just been called for pre-op. Had lung/carotid/echo done. How long have people waited for The Op after pre-op? Going to Wythenshawe if that helps

Cannot sleep after CABG
I've always found it difficult to sleep. Over the last few years I've only ever had 3/4 hours sleep per night. Like all insomniacs I've tried everything, from medication, supplements to CBT-i but nothing really helped. In the end I accepted it and functioned happily enough from day to day. Since

It's all becoming overwhelming
Hi Everyone,It's been 9 months since my 3x Cabg, recovery has been slow. As we came into 2024 I was being investigated for AFib and was supposed to have a loop fitted. This was put off because at the same time I was diagnosed with breast cancer and the loop couldn't be fitted because of the need for

I’m so inspired by the stories people have shared, and photos! This is my first post so apologies if not all relevant. Being a fit 58 year old male recently diagnosed with angina to just hearing I need a double bypass has terrified me. But the wealth of information on here as well has people’s first

11 months post quadruple CABG (25/07/23) after Nstemi heart attack (13/07/23)
Wow , what a month. Enjoyed that one 🤣👊🏻. Passed my module 2 motorbike test and got my full A license to ride unrestricted motorcycles. Passed in the Monday , picked up my 2019 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 on the Tuesday 🙌🏻. A couple of little issues meant that it went back to the dealer for some

Concerned I have PAD
Hello All, I used to be on this forum as Judge Dredd but I had to drop out due to some issues on another chat group unfortunately. Had long-term (20 plus years) hypertension and was diagnosed with CAD approx 5 years ago. Underwent a double CABG in Feb 2020 and then angioplasty with stent in Mar 2023

CTO of AV circumflex
I had CABG just over a year ago. Continued to have same symptoms as before after discharge from hospital. Angiography revealed that CABG had failed. MRI revealed CTO of AV circumflex. Now been referred to interventionist to “risk assess” procedure. This I take to mean they will likely go nothing

Cabg triple bypass 4 yrs ago after 2 Ha's, 1 month ago HA and now on 5 more drugs for helping the heart more and angina. How soon is it possible to fly after this, my thinking is might as well rest in the sun as in the rain. Fit enough in my self - doing fair bit of walking, not out of breath or any

Being admitted for a triple CABG at lunchtime today.
I'm a bit anxious! Would appreciate a bit of reassurance. I'm worried about the post op pain mostly. Update: it's been postponed until next week. Got the phone call as we were getting into the car to go to the hospital.....

My 1st anniversary
Well I'm a couple of days late with this post, Friday marked the first anniversary of my heart attack that prompted a fasttrack journey through the NHS cardiac system and an experience of a number of cardiac procedures. In summary I had 2xPCI a year ago tomorrow. An echo prior to discharge led to AVR

Reliance on Codeine
Following CABG five weeks ago I still have a lot of pain in my left leg where the vein was removed. I manage this through 2 paracetamol 4 times a day and 1 codeine tablet twice a day, having just reduced from 2 codeine tablets twice a day. This keeps me just on top of the pain. I'm wondering how

Having a STEMI in mid 40's...the search for underlying causes / answers for premature CHD.
Hi Everyone, My husband had a major STEMI in March 2023 with a full blockage of his circumflex artery. He was 44 years old and playing 5-a-side football in a local sports centre when he collapsed without warning. Thank goodness it happened there of all places however, as the swift actions of his team
