Endarterectomy

Just had 1 year duplex scan after my carotid endarterectomy and expected the vessel to be clear.

Scanning operative drew pic for my surgeon showing some residual disease on scar site.

I was shocked and terrified after all I have been through.

Has anyone else experience to impart? It could be so helpful.

Thanks.

Hello :-)

I am sorry I cannot relate to what you are going through I relate to feeling petrified when I had an angiogram and they told me I needed a Triple Bypass that feeling is not good at all and so I am sorry you feel this way but be reassured you are in good hands and will get any treatment that might be needed

You could always talk to the BHF Nurses by giving them a ring who might be able to help I will put their number on as well as hoping someone will see your post who knows more about this

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Dear BeKind28

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. The terror is crippling and you know this. I am not alone.

Hello :-)

I have suffered with severe anxiety most of my life so throw a medical issue in with it and yes I agree and sometimes people do not realise how crippling it is and it is not for the lack of trying as it is not as easy as said not to be anxious to a degree where is takes over your every thought but you are not alone and I just take a day at a time when it gets to bad

Come and talk with us whenever you need to :-) x

Thanks again, so succinctly put. I have rarely managed a thought not overun by fear for more than a year now. I am exhausted. I find more and more questions without answers.
