Fingers crossed ! Sotalol
The next step is an echocardiogram to 'assess his left atrium size before proceeding to DC
cardioversion
'. Should be fine. Checked Sotalol out online - it appears to be a cross between a beta blocker and antiarrhythmic med.

Experience on taking Amiodarone
Had unsuccessful
cardioversion
and it is suggested I change blood thinner from Apixaban to Amiodarone and try
cardioversion
again. The side affects concern me and would like to know if anyone can tell me their experience on this blood thinner. I expect to be on it at least 14 months if not longer.

Return of the Duck
She did mention a
cardioversion
as an option if the AF was lingering but I don't think it is, fortunately. I still have the puffy legs but the breathlessness has reduced, I have some Furusemide I can take on the non working days.

SUITABLE STRONG PAIN KILLER?
I am thankfull for having the
cardioversion
quickly during the Covid pandemic which appears to have been successful. I wear a watch which monitors my heart rate which rarely goes more than 100 BPM.

AF after cardioversion
What was the next treatment, i.e. another
cardioversion
, another ablation, road to permanent AF? 5. Could these waiting for
cardioversion
34 days AF cause further remodelling and fibrosis to an extensively fibrotic remodelled heart? 6.

Persistent AF
If everything is fine and they confirm persistent AF he will do a
cardioversion
. He has also prescribed Flecainide. Does anyone have any comments regarding this medication. Apparently I have to stay on Bisoprolol as well but on a reduced dose. Thanks for any help.

Cardioversion and Blood Pressure
Prior to the
cardioversion
my blood pressure was quite low on the 2.5 mg Bisoprolol, typically 115/75 however since the
cardioversion
BP has been higher ie around 135/80 which is not too bad but occasionally 150/90 which is very high for me.

Three years ago today ....
On this day in 2018, I had my first
cardioversion
. My heart had been stuck at 150bpm for three days. I was hospitalised, diagnosed with Atrial Flutter and given a

Cardioversion not available on the NHS?
As I have zero quality of life I asked about going privately for
cardioversion
and I will be having it in a fortnight's time. I am disgusted that the NHS has stopped a treatment for this debilitating condition. Incidentally it could be a postcode lottery.

Cardioversion number five
This is getting ridiculous. One month after my last I've just come back to my marvellous big teaching hospital (again) and been cardioverted back in rhythm within 2.5 hours of arriving! But this is getting silly now..... Can't keep going through this.... Guess the EP was right when he recommended a

First Cardioversion failed after 7 days. Can I get back into Normal Sinus Rythm On Sotalol and Vit C alone?
Had first electrical
cardioversion
last Wednesday and it was succesful. Put on 40mg Sotalol twice a day to help retain rythm.

The reason I was not suitable for
cardioversion
or ablation is I have Dilated Cardiomyopathy that can only be managed. Bit of a blow but my ejection is 41% so cautiously optimistic. I'd appreciate any thoughts and information from you lovely forum members who are in a similar situation

Ablation number TWO - excitement all round!
Once there they decided to try a chemical
cardioversion
. The A&E doctor and I had "a full and frank exchange of views" which was a bit unfair since she was only telling me what the cardiology dept were telling her (I did apologise).

I was in persistent AF previously but since a
cardioversion
in September, coupled with Sotalol have been in normal rhythm since. He has said the ablation will be my best hope to come off the medication (I had an ablation in 2017) and hopefully be AF free. Feeling nervous about it now though!

First Ablation Yesterday
Back to my room with a mouth full of blood as during the last
cardioversion
, I had bitten my tongue on both sides. Having been given heparin during the procedure, I looked like Countess Dracula and despite this, I was told I still had to take my own Apixaban at 6pm.

Back into Afib..
I had my first
cardioversion
5 months ago and had been in NSR until a week ago. I had a funny turn, felt lightheaded, dizzy and my heart was racing and now I’m back in Afib!
