My lovely cardiologist requested an MRI and I've just had his diagnosis that confirms what I suspected. The reason I was not suitable for cardioversion or ablation is I have Dilated Cardiomyopathy that can only be managed. Bit of a blow but my ejection is 41% so cautiously optimistic. I'd appreciate any thoughts and information from you lovely forum members who are in a similar situation

Hello, have you discovered the Cardiomyopathy UK website? It’s really helpful and they have a nurse-run helpline too which is excellent. I don’t know anything about DCM and AF so i’m afraid I can’t answer your question directly. Here the link cardiomyopathy.org
All the best to you and your loved ones.
Thank you for responding, I have already been on the website but I found it more geared to people who had really serious problems but not much info for 'borderline' types of how to manage it long term. I'll maybe have a word with one of their nurses as I think that would probably be more helpful to me. Thank you again
