living emotionally and mentally with afib
Lately they have been increasing in frequency so I am having a
cardioversion
on 4/25. So I am continuing to live in fear waiting for an attack and when they happen am pretty much emotionally paralyzed. I have tried cbh and am on amiodorone 200mg/d and metoprolol ex100mg.

Do you have persistent or long-standing AF?
You may also be taking medications, have previously experienced an intervention such as a catheter ablation,
cardioversion
or a pacemaker.

Weird follow up
I usually stop it in one clean go after say a
cardioversion
or ablation, without any withdrawal probs. So thanks anyway for your care and sorry for being unclear.

Cardioversion
The cardio mentioned that if the
cardioversion
failed I should have an ablation. However is that any more likely to prove successful than the
cardioversion
?

Fifth Ablation Done
Synchronized
cardioversion
was used to restore sinus rhythm., Pacing at the end of the case did not induce further sustained arrhythmia.” Not only was he thorough, he confirmed that arrhythmia couldn’t be induced. Four days being back in NSR, and lowered blood pressure to boot, feels great!

How long should I wait?
68, male, no underlying conditions, relatively fit, not overweight. Afib diagnosed 2019. 2 cardioversions in 2020, 3 months apart. No problems since until recently. Irregular heartbeat returned 2 days ago, after overworking on a diy project then stupidly rewarding myself with alcohol. On Apixiban

slower heart rate following electrical cardio version
Hi, I had to have an electrical
cardioversion
due to fast AF 3 weeks ago. I have noticed since then my HR is lower than my normal baseline was pre
cardioversion
. It is regular in 60s and 50s where as before it would be 60s-70s I feel fine and I exercise regularly I’m 58.

Amazing
If you have had a successful,
cardioversion
you know how good you can feel. Imagine that only better. It’s not a magic wand as I found out. Just like any other procedure, you are going to have some soreness and questions.

Feeling grim after hospital stay for AF episode - advice please!
Had particularly tenacious episode of AF which failed to respond to my usual Flecainide PIP. This led to hospital over the weekend. After a somewhat lengthy process I eventually returned to sinus rhythm with the help of more flecainide, more Bisoprolol and a new one for me, IV magnesium. I was discharged

Persistent/Permanent AF in preference to Paroxysmal??
I have paroxysmal AF which is now persistent (over 7 days continuous AF only resolvable to NSR with DCCV
cardioversion
). I have had 3 ablations for AF and 1 for atrial flutter.

cardiomyopathy and afib
I was told
cardioversion
had its best chance of working if done early, but it’s just getting left to get worse as far as I can see. Thanks for any comments.

Thank you all for replies, re Bisoprolol. Back in AF today !
The last
cardioversion
I had 16 months ago lasted 4 months , I felt on top of the world ,and was looking forward to feeling the same. I’m so disappointed. I am on the waiting list to have an ablation at Cambridge, I just hope I don’t have to wait too long .
