Cardioversion

Taking Edoxoban for last few months and they have advised I come off beta blocker the day before so heart rate doesn’t go too low after the cardioversion. Thanks Update- I had my cardioversion yesterday. I was really emotional walking to the Cath lab but everyone put me at ease.

Heart rate is normal only a few flutters but nothing stuck in afib Anyone else had similar after cardioversion? It’s driving me mad feeling so slow after 3 weeks 🙈

Five days in NSR after cardioversion is a hopeful sign for me. (3 ablations and 4 cardioversions). But today Im gettting ectopic beats. I know we’re not supposed to think they mean anything but of course Im worried its a sign of the cardioversion about to fail. any hints on calming them?

I had a cardioversion few weeks ago which was successful. But after 2 weeks went back into af only because my Fitbit told me which was confirmed by ecg . I didn’t feel any different though . Any ideas what the next option is likely to be . Thanks .

For those of you with hypothyroidism and heart disease, have any of you been advised to or taken amiadrone and warfarin prior to cardioversion to increase likelihood of staying in sinus rhythm? There are so many contraindications for me personally due to other meds and comorbidities.

Never ever has a cardioversion worked longer than a week😌 But three nights ago the ectopic beats returned. 5 per minute. In the afternoon and evenings. So searching for a positive story.

I asked the arrhythmia nurse, at a recent post cardioversion appointment, if I could stop or reduce my medication (Apixaban, Carvedilol and flecainide) and she said she would write to the specialist.

Consensus was Cardioversion. Coffee an biscuits after successful procedure. Very appreciative of all support, treatment and swiftness of procedure. Thanks to all concerned. Cheers Cam

I’ve recently been diagnosed with aflutter and been given options of flecainide or cardioversion or ablation. Any thoughts? My cardiologist said that any tx would be my choice, including no additional meds.

I just had a cardioversion 2 weeks ago. I just went back into afib and tachicardia. Doctors told me not to use flacinide to get out of afib. I am on a low dose of metropolol (12 mg) with Eliquist. What can i do now to get out of afib?

I do still get slightly breathless and have had a persistent low level headache since the cardioversion.

had successful cardioversion which lasted almost 2 years with the aid of flecainide ~ now back in AF and cardioversion arranged but amiodorone is to be used beforehand- I’m very put off by the side affects of this drug - am I over re- acting ?

Hi all, I had a successful cardioversion for 100% AF in July, my Apple Watch tells me I’m having AF approx 10% of the time but I’ve only been aware of it once since. Keep getting offered flu and Covid jabs now I’m high risk but don’t want it to trigger another episode?

Awful I went with all my reports of AFib and the information the Arrhythmia nurse gave me and he just ripped it all up and said to stay on the same medication and he will see me in 6 months and think about another cardioversion. The reason I was referred is because of a possible ablation.

Hubby had his cardioversion yesterday. One zap and it worked, he felt tired but fine. Forward to today and his pulse is 40-47. If he walks round the house and does something it goes up to 65-70. He says it doesn't feel right but not sure if he should contact cardio department. Any help please?

I had a cardioversion in April in Spain and all was well for a few weeks. On arriving back home (Switzerland) things weren’t looking so great.

I had a successful cardioversion using flecainide before and after that lasted 2 years but now AF has returned- I will have another cardioversion but because of my age ( 80) the hospital want me to use amiodorone instead - I wasn’t happy with this suggestion due to the toxic side effects of amiodorone
