flecainide versus amiodorone

I had a successful cardioversion using flecainide before and after that lasted 2 years but now AF has returned- I will have another cardioversion but because of my age ( 80) the hospital want me to use amiodorone instead - I wasn’t happy with this suggestion due to the toxic side effects of amiodorone- the hospital have relented and I will be using flecainide again 50mg twice a day one week before
