Ovarian Cancer Modulator
A defective p53 pathway is a hallmark of ovarian
carcinoma
. The p53 mutation correlates significantly with resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy, early relapse and shortened overall survival in ovarian cancer patients.

My dad has non small cell carcinoma and has been offered biological therapy to prolong life.
The side effects are tiredness, acne and diarrhoea all of which are swaying him into not having the treatment (he is nearly 90). Can anyone tell me what he is likely to expect if he doesn't have the treatment? What happens next?

Problems with chronic kidney disease?
My question is this: Last fall I had a kidney removed due to
carcinoma
, was very lucky as needed no further treatment. However, they just found out that I have stage 3 chronic kidney disease. My symptoms are all there.

Just wondered if anyone else also has a mucinous
carcinoma
of the ovary and has a similar experience, or any experience they are willing to share.

Peninusula Health Technology Commisioning Group Commissioning Decision:- Rituximab for Severe ANCA Associated Vasculitis
The
carcinoma
resulted in 3 operations and 3 short stays in hospital as well as 3 monthly checks using the "willy cam". (Cystoscopy) John likes to think his report on his experiences had some influence on their final decision. :-)

My Mum - an update
My mum has non small cell adino
carcinoma
, she was diagnosed in November, which was a massive shock and has left us all reeling. She's had a rough time since, with biopsies etc.

Pathological report staged it at a pt2n0m0, poorly differentiated sarcomatoid pleomorphic
carcinoma
(still a bit in the dark at what that means). Apart from tiring and getting a little breathless (probs down to me getting older) I'm doing fine.

Spiriva Respimat - Tiotropium
I told the GP's/Consultants all along that I had been subject to passive smoking from birth to the age of sixteen, my mother chain smoked and subsequently died of small cell
carcinoma
of the lung. Previously they had told be I didn't have COPD as I didn't smoke and had never smoked.

Been diagnosed with clear cell carcinoma Stage 1, grade 3.
2 weeks ago, I had surgery to remove a chocolate cyst. During that surgery my gynae also removed the right ovary as she wasn't too happy with how it looked. I have just received the news 24 hours ago, that the biopsy was not great, and that I had a 2.5cm tumour which is stage 1, grade 3. I've since

Hi everyone, Does anyone no what grade a
Carcinoma
tumour is, I am aware that it is an aggresive type which spreads quickly, but is it always a high grade i.e 3 or 4 or can it be slow growing?
