Update
Unfortunately after 3 additional rounds of
Carboplatin
and Etoposide chemo has failed and the cancer is growing both in Martins Liver and his bones. We have a meeting with his MO this evening. Not sure if there is anything left to try.

Dad's PSA now 1800..nothing works..Is this the end??
I pleaded with the Onc if we could 'think outside the box' , can we try something, anything. 2 cycles of
Carboplatin
brought his PSA down from 1500 to 1300; we were hopeful; yet after the 3rd cycle, PSA shot up.

hello
I had an allergic reaction to
carboplatin
during this last treatment so I won't be able to receive it anymore.

Third line chemotherapy, Caelyx
so, have started Caelyx every 4 weeks as
carboplatin
and paclitaxel and Niraparib have stopped working. Surgery to remove peritoneum and resection liver not an option. Does anyone have experience of just Caelyx? Is it effective on its own? Thankyou

Elahere
After 4+ years of successful treatment with
Carboplatin
for metastatic ovarian cancer the carbo has stopped working. This week I will start a brand new drug called Elahere that was just given full approval in the U.S. on March 22.

Vorinostat trial
My PSA recently started climbing and is up to 30 now while on Jevtana and
Carboplatin
. What other treatments should I be asking about? Hormone therapy stopped working about a year ago after being on it for about 6 months. Taxotere worked well when I was on it a year ago.

Gemzar and Carboplatim
She is being treat with Gemzar and
Carboplatin
, there's been no suggestion of radiotherapy. I'm asking if anyone could advise on side effects she seems very tired , which I understand is not uncommon and she is managing by listening to her body, resting when needed and eating well.

And now this.
I’m waiting to start
Carboplatin
after Docetaxel was stopped. PARP inhibitor not indicated. The Oncologist is talking about non-standard treatment and I’m feeling like it’s the end of the road. In addition, I’ve been diagnosed with heart failure.

Is Jevtana easier to tolerate than docetaxel?
The last three were given with a second dose of
Carboplatin
. Jevtana is new to us. How is it tolerated? Why can it be given at such a high number of doses?

Low Red Cell Count
Started dual chemo cabazitaxel and
carboplatin
in mid May. Went for third chemo yesterday and low red cell counts prevented that. Had been feeling extra tired but thought it was just the chemo.

Dearest,Hope all good. Since i was in the hospital, 11 days for a bacteria in my porth-a-cath, my body did a huge retention of liquids in my feet and legs. Extremely painful. Anyone else suffer the same? Did your doctor have reservation to prescribe lasix instead of spironolactone due to the potassium

What’s Next?
I believe it’s
carboplatin
, which I understand is platinum-based which my cardiologist states is not good for the heart and 2. Can long use of Lupron cause artery calcification? My latest PSA performed last week was 70 Sorry for the long diatribe. This is getting serious. Thanks.

Clear Cell Progression
My taxol/
carboplatin
& Avastin chemotherapy treatment was discontinued after 3 infusions, as CT scan showed progression of tumors, and invasion into my liver. The doctors at UCSF have not much to offer as no targetable gene mutations were identified.
