Quick recurrence
Hi... I have been so positive in this whole journey since diagnosis at Christmas 2011.. Indeed started chemo on Xmas day! Had 6 cycles of weekly taxol and carboplatin with surgery in between to remove the offending ovary and all reproductive organs and the secondary tumours in omentum, rectum and appendix

Does anyone have any experience of the after efects of cisplatin?
It is likely to be my next chemo.. after weekly taxol which was not really effective. I have not had a platinum based drug for 2 years and cisplatin is being suggested rather than carboplatin because I have reacted to the latter in the past though was still able to have it in the slow regime described

Another failed chemo regime!
Just back from the hospital where I got my results of my scan after 8 weeks on weekly taxol. This unfortunately hasn't worked at all and tumours have grown considerably and one now stuck to my colon. My consultant wanted to put me forward for a trial they are doing at Addenbrookes but because I have

Post Chemo Detox
I finished my chemo (
carbo
/
taxol
) in May but am still feeling sluggish, tired and achey. I wondered if a detox might help. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Katy x

Living in the twilight zone - Recurrence & waiting for 2nd line chemo.
Supposed to have had CTscan, review and possibly start
carbo
/
taxol
couple of weeks after. Four weeks have gone by and no scan date, so I rang up and haha no referral could be found. Anyway eventually I have one for end of August and follow up appointment in middle September.

Back again!
My latest ct scan has shown more enlarged lymph nodes in my chest and abdomen, and CA125 has risen to 470, so my second line chemo regimen (Etopocide orally) has not been effective. First line chemo (6 X Carboplatin and Taxol every 3 weeks) was successful, but remission only lasted 4 months. Onc says

Recurrence - expected but now confirmed
Mum had her second check-up today (following first line treatment which finished in March '12) and her oncologist confirmed that the cancer is back. We were partly expecting this as Mum had a pleurodesis procedure in early July following a collapsed lung caused by fluid build up in her chest. Her recent

Well I have just finished 8 rounds of
carbo
/
taxol
and Avastin. Results show ct scan clear some small low grade activity on PET which I am assured i shouldn't worry about, but obviously will. Feel exhausted and nervous of the future.

Hi everyone - has anyone out there taken part in the PETROC trial? If so, I was wondering how it went and what side effects there were.
I have just finished 4 cycles of
carbo
-
taxol
and have date for surgery early in July. As long as the surgery goes well enough, i shall be randomised to one of three strands of treatment in the trial. One strand is just IV chemo, the other two include IV and IP ( intraperitoneal ) chemo.

I am still around !!!!!!
Hi Ladies, You will have missed me on the site. I have been very poorly, not cancer related we now find out thankfully. But I can now explain just why I have not been in touch and and have neglected friends on here. Somehow I find it so difficult to come on and post and deal with other peoples problems

Recurrence with Ca125 of 108, awaiting 2nd line chemo. Would appreciate anybody wanting to share similar experience, suggestions or help.
Had 4 chemo of
carbo
/
taxol
, then interval pelvic clearance, and then 2 more chemo. Original ca125 of 6500, after all treatment stayed around 16 for 4 years. Started to move up slowly a year ago to 20, then 27 in November, 33 in March and today 108.

Calcified Tumours
Does anyone else have tumours that have calcified, as well as ordinary ones? I have both sorts in my pelvis and a calcified one above my collarbone. I also have an ordinary para aortic (?) one and another on my back (rib). My Oncologist says I am unusual but I thought it usual for tumours to calcify

Decisions about chemotherapy
Hi this the first time I have written a blog, so I apologise if it is a bit long!. My mother(aged 76 (normally quite fit and young for her age!) has recently undergone an abdominal hysterectomy, removal of both ovaries, fallopian tubes, womb and omentum. Two cysts were found. it has been confirmed

Bad news today
Went for scan results today to see if my second line chemo is working, unfortunately it is not and it was apparently their best hope of giving me a little while longer. Will now be having weekly taxol as my cancer is platinum resistant. Have been told that 30 percent chance of this working, but if it
