FRUSTRATING
My husband seems to be getting weaker and having more issues on the Levadopa/
carbidopa
that he was put on immediately by his neurologist. His movements are slower he complains that he is not sleeping at night, that would be because he sits on the sofa sleeping during the day.

Recognizing the Progression of Parkinson's Disease Symptoms
As your symptoms begin affecting your functioning, the Parkinson's medication Sinemet or Parcopa [
carbidopa
and levodopa]) is usually able to significantly and effectively reduce symptoms for one to five years — longer in about 25 percent of patients. 3. Waning medication response.

I'm struggling for some time feeling most uncomfortable condition after I take the medicine viz. Syncapone 150 -(this is the combination
of
Carbidopa
, Levodopa and Entacapone tablets). For a while I can't make out which is going on in my brain. Even I can't understand. I get scared! My Neurologist could not give satisfactory explanation. I continue to suffer.

Carbidopa/Levadopa (Sinemet) and augmentation. One thing that can cause this med not to work as well as it should for some people.
These days Sinemet is considered an "old fashioned" treatment for chronic sever RLS. Dr. Buchfuhrer says that he rarely uses it now, because of the fact that it can stop working so fast and should only be used for intermittent RLS, not chronic , daily RLS. Quote from the RLS Foundation medical bulletin

Hello, I was diagnosed PD about 8 years ago, currently on

Comtan / entacapone cost
Comtan (generic:entacapone) really works for me in extending my on-times for
carbidopa
-levadopa to the point where I am almost symptom free some days. However, I have been paying $300-$400 for it per month because my insurance, and I've been told, most insurance didn't cover it.

RLS meds initiate RLS symtoms before suppressing them?
After several years of taking RLS medicines, most recently Rapinerole and now Sinemet (
Carbidopa
-Levo ER) both in combination with small dosage of Clonazepam.

Neurologist is suggesting stopping Meds
My wife has had PSP since May 2010 and been on
Carbidopa
and Ropinirole and they helped a bit. We had a visit to the Neurologist this week and he is suggesting she stop as they are probably no longer helping and the regime involves a lot of pills and she hates taking pills.

GABAPENTIN for nerve pain?
My PD meds are
carbidopa
/levodopa, comtan and mirapex. (Mirapex was the possible interaction). Within two hours of taking the one AND ONLY capsule I will ever take, I had double vision, a migraine complete with nausea, diarhea (sp?), and felt like a walking zombie.

Coconut oil has improved my life
The addition of
Carbidopa
/Levodopa (25/100, 3 per day) eased the joint pain and the freezing episodes and restored some of the lost balance, but I still had annoying unsteadiness, slow movement, and could not rise from a low chair unassisted. I still dragged my left leg.

Has anyone experienced withdrawal symptoms while tapering off of Roprinerol (Requip)?
I also take 600 mg of Stalevo and 10 tablets of
Carbidopa
/ Levodopa 25/100 each day. The next neurologist decreased the dosage from 24 mg to 12 mg. My new neurologist, who is a movement disorder specialist, has had me taper off from 12 to 10 to 8 to 6 mg daily.
