Canagliflozin featured as a new treatment
Today's 'i' newspaper reported an article in The New England Journal of Medicine double-blind tests, the result showing it reduced kidney failure by a third, and cardiovascular events by 20%. As it is already a drug in use to treat Type 2 diabetes, it is currently readily available. Sounds good news

Hi, I am new to having type 2 Diabetes, I have recently been on Sitagliptin I was on that for 3 months. I have recently been put on Dapagliflozin, hoping this will help. I have other auto immune illnesses too, which came before this one and finding out that they can cause Diabetes. Unsure what else is

Dapagliflozin or not?
I have T2 diabetes; hypertension; polymyalgia (PMR) and have lymphoedema in my legs. My blood readings are raised artificially by having to take steroids for the PMR (4.75 years and counting). Recent Hba1 is 8.7% and I use metformin, Levermir and Novarapid as controls. My GP has recently tried to prescribe

New to this ... Need help
I was prescribed Metformin which did not agree with me at all so I was changed onto
Canagliflozin
, though I feel reluctant to take them as I don't really want to be taking medication if I can help it. So I am looking for some advice and tips about where to start and what to tackle first.

Steroid-induced diabetes
I'm feeling v discouraged, last couple of days because, despite noticeably reducing Pred - now on 12mg ->> 11mg - my steroid-induced diabetes seems to be getting worse instead of better. My blood sugars are creeping up; not disastrous, but are hovering around 14mmol/l at all times - too high. This is

Blood Result
Hi Apologies for the long long post I have Diabetes type 2, Thyroidectomy, B12 deficiency, Calcium Deficiency. I constantly feel unwell with foggy brain, aches and pains and fatigue. Everything is always blamed on high blood sugars. They never seem to look past me being a diabetic which is frustrating
