Calcium Supplements Edited with more Info
Jim's Calcium level has been around 10 since Dec 2020. He had his first Lupron shot Jan 2021. Abiraterone started Mar 2021. He has been on 1000mg of Oyster Shell Calcium and when I recently reviewed her instructions from 2020 I realized she had wanted him to take 650mg calcium citrate or carbonate

Blood test for calcium
I was reading the 'Supplement timing' post which appeared in my daily e-mail this morning and one of the replies from greygoose raised a good point. In the past I was mildly low with my calcium and since going through a surgical menopause in October 2021 and having a DEXA scan which showed mild osteopenia

Lactulose and Bones
I have just been reading that lactulose inhibits bone loss in post menopausal women AND increases absorption of Vit D, calcium and magnesium. Has anybody else come across this?. Bone Profile Result.
Hi all, at my Rheumatology appointment last October, they took a full blood count test which included a bone profile result. An interview with Dr Aileen Burford Mason - Magnesium deficiency
Indeed a very informative interview. Most of the things were new for me. After watching this, I feel that the most important supplement for Parkinson's is the magnesium. She also provides guidance on dosage. One important thing I noted was that calcium intake is must alongside magnesium. Why? Watch it

Update on seeing Electrophysiologist - and fed up.
Hi All, I’m a bit fed up. I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the fact I’d arranged a private appointment with an EP at my local hospital this week, as I was fed up with waiting for a follow up with my cardiologist which should have happened in January. I’m paroxysmal AF, formally diagnosed last September

Does magnesium interfere with calcium absorption?
I’ve been taking calcium ever since my TT because of low PTH (500 mg x2 daily) and I’ve recently started taking Magnesium glycinate 750 mg before sleep, 2 hours after the calcium. I started seeing low calcium symptoms like cramps and I was wondering if I’m taking too much magnesium and if it interfers

Our friend LYN-PARZA
My husband started Lynparza mid January 2022 with a PSA of 238. His PSA is now 73. We hope to remain friends with Lynparza as long as possible. Side effects are low white counts and he had to stop xgeva for a while due to low calcium levels. We are scheduling blood work every 14 days to check to

Why does every country have different dosage recommendations for calcium, as well as other vitamins?
In the u.s., the guideline is to get 1200 mg of calcium if over a certain age and to get 800 iu's of vitamin d. How can these numbers differ depending on where you live? A fact is a fact, no matter what country it's in.
