Girls, can you help me to feel more positive about living with ovarian cancer?
August 2009 - 2nd Recurrence. 3 small areas of disease with the abdominal cavity, so told no chance of cure now. 6 cycles
caelyx
resulted in stable disease. Dec 2011. Permanent Uretic stent inserted as tumors pressing on ureter and causing kidney to swell up.

Is this the end of the road? Please can anyone offer any suggestions?
She then went on to
Caelyx
but has suffered really bad reactions with her hands and feet so red and the skin cracking, because of the reactions they ordered another CT scan and found the chemo had not worked. ( she has a copy of the results but so far has been unable to pluck up the courage to read them

options after carboplatin and taxol
He mentioned that
Caelyx
, which is what they would have tried next, is not being manufactured until the end of the year and is not currently available to new patients. He also mentioned another drug, whose name I didn’t catch (it had “cyclo” in the name) might be an option.

2nd line chemotherapy for fast returning stage 3c OC
The best option we have been told would be carboplatin with
caelyx
but none is available-has anyone else experience this and what options have you been offered?

Hi Ladies After finishing 7 months of
Caelyx
in early December I saw my Professor Onologist yesterday. The

Advice re 'maintenance' chemo
I've also been told that I can go on the ICON6 trial or if chosing not to, go on Carboplatin and
Caelyx
. Does anyone have any experience of either of these and did anyone have a similar choice?

Is anyone having, or has had Caelyx (Liposomal doxorubicin)?
I've had 2 full courses of Carboplatin over the last 2 years and in a few weeks will be starting on
Caelyx
as the cancer is returning. Its only in my abdomen thankfully but needs treating for the third time.

Caelyx followed by Carboplatin and Taxol
I've been advised that I could have
Caelyx
followed by Carboplatin and Taxol further down the line. Wondered if anyone had gone down this route and if what the advantages and disadvantages were.

Have treatment now or what for clinical trial?
She was also offered
CAELYX
as an alternative, but she decided on Taxol as people seem to agree that this might be more effective. We asked her Oncologist about possible clinical trials and we were referred to one at Barts hospital (UK), involving weekly Taxol with SARACATANIB.

six-month post chemo CA125 result. And Avastin. Is it available in the UK?
She's been treated with
caelyx
because she was allergic to Taxol. I'm also interested to know if anyone has been prescribed Avastin either as part of a trial or regular treatment because we understood from the info at the Ovacome conference in June that it was only available in the States.

Mums Reaction to Taxol, now been given Caelyx
So this afternoon she had a course of
Caelyx
given over 2.5 hours, slower than normal to be on the safe side. Mum seemed to be okay, just hoping this will work for her. Any advice on
Caelyx
would be much appreciated, i.e remissions etc.
