Down the slippery slope...
I had my last Carbo/
Caelyx
at the end of November with a partial response on imaging and CA125 at 184. I saw my consultant yesterday - my CA125 is now 130! I’m hoping it will go down more, but know that’s clutching at straws a bit!

Update and Trial question
We saw my special persons oncologist on Tuesday surprise (sarcastically) it’s back, her CA125 is 280 were not panicking though as she’s not getting symptoms other than pain in the area so will start chemo in January just
Caelyx
on it’s own as she’s now classed as platinum resistant we were hoping to

Post Carbo/Caelyx results
Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok. I’m just back from the consultant. Imaging shows that I have had a partial response to the chemo and my CA125 is down to 180, not brilliant, but an improvement from 722. Unfortunately I don’t qualify for Niraparib as I didn’t achieve the required 90% reduction of CA125

Stop pursuing treatment, or weekly taxol
This was quickly followed with 6 cycles of carboplatin and
caelyx
. I tolerated this treatment fairly well (despite a very sore mouth). However, at the end of treatment consultation I was told my ca125 had plateaued at 170. A week ago I was back in hospital for another Ascites drain, 4 litres.

Overthinking or not?
All went well after treatment finished But after 3 mths there were a few nodules showing on my peritoneum so had
Caelyx
but that didn’t do anything so now on Gemcitabine. CA125 has dropped but talking to a friend whose partner recently passed away with lymphoma she said he was immune to chemo.

An update post Taxol - advice needed please!
(
Caelyx
/ Carbo also didn’t work but in fairness to her that was in another hospital...) My wonderful prof popped in and we spoke ( I went blank...) and agreed I could go on Letrozole for a couple of months to catch my breath and try to get back some energy before starting again..

Caelyx and Carboplatin for second line Chemo: Any tips?
My daughter is nudging me to ask the forum what they have experienced with
Caelyx
alone and
Caelyx
combined with Carboplatin. I thought I read some posts over the past year complaining of unbearable side effects from
Caelyx
.

Incisions Hernia and Travel
Had reoccurence in March 2017 6 mouths of Carboplatin and
Caelyx
got me into full remission again. Unfortunatelty in Sept this year MRI showed 2 not very enlarged lymph nodes so at the moment I am on watch and wait , although my oncologist has told me I might need treatment again in December.

Carbo/Caelyx: experiences please! Thanks
Hi lovelies, As you know, I have recently begun the Carbo/
Caelyx
treatment for first recurrence. After a little glitch on the seventh day, I have been feeling amazingly well! Because I was so sick during first line, Carbo/Taxol, this is all new to me and I cannot figure out how to behave!

🌻Stable, and Well!🌻
I saw my Oncologist on Wednesday and although cancer had previously shrunk 88% on carbo/
caelyx
, there was still a bit of tumour left, but on study of the recent scan, tumour hadn't increased, so no more chemo, check ups every 3months and if any pain/symptoms I'll be having radiotherapy.

Update from Laura - Early Recurrence Confirmed
But instead of Taxol, I will be having
Caelyx
. So Carboplatin and
Caelyx
will be the regime. I did try to get another operation as well as weekly Taxol and my doctor said she will bring it up at Wednesday’s team meeting. But here I am. Chemo set for two weeks away.

Caelyx or Gemzar
They are planning to discontinue with avastin and offered me either
Caelyx
4 weekly or Gemzar weekly for 3 weeks consecutively. Has anyone any positive outcomes on these drugs or negative as its good to know both.

Had a review in clinic two weeks later and my oncologist did a 360 on chemo and offered me
caelyx
even though scans still stable they were worried about the ongoing fluid loss and the impact it is having on my body.

My first post but sad news
After several abdominal drains, she was then put on
Caelyx
, which you have to keep cool with, not easy during that heatwave we had. By July, we realised that she was taking longer to recover from treatments and her breathing deteriorated, even with home oxygen.
