Should I have been given Zyban/bupropion to treat my anxiety/depression?
There are things about citalopram which I'm not keen on and make my anxiety worse (such as a decreased ability to reach orgasm) and though it slightly aids my moods it doesnt help me feel motivated etc so I did some research of my own which I explained to the doctor including saying that I'd read about

Anyone taking these drugs?
Anyway, is anyone taking norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (venlafaxine, duloxetine), or norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitors (
bupropion
)? These are drugs that are supposed to compensate for a damaged LC.

Latest bloods: Free T3 okay?
Before taking
bupropion
I was taking my T3 in the morning and the bloodwork suggested that I could stand to take a bit more. Would there be any merit in taking 10mcg at bedtime, rather than 5mcg? Do I still get any benefit from taking it at night rather than during the day?

Zyban and thyroid meds
I've just started on zyban /
bupropion
/ wellbutrin for my bipolar disorder and so far it's going really well. However, I'm getting hot flushes and tachycardia which I would normally associate with being overdosed on thyroid meds.

Just when I thought I was getting better.
While I was seeing her, I was also put on meds. (
Bupropion
) (hopefully to eliminate, or slow down some of the ptsd symptoms) At the time my symptoms were off the charts and it was making me and everyone close to me crazy. So I did what I could to try to continue to move forward.

NON SMOKING TREATMENTS
Bupropion
was originally designed to treat depression, but it was discovered that it also helped people quit smoking. It's not entirely clear why, but most experts believe it affects parts of the brain involved in addictive behaviour.
Bupropion
is prescribed as one to two tablets a day.

Trying to understand the role of various medicines....
I am also taking Levothyroxine.... and
Bupropion
HCL XL(probably because taking so many other drugs is depressing). I have etopic heartbeats, most are not severe, but i get double vision that can last anywhere from a few seconds to more than 15minutes.(this DOES knock my socks off).

BEAT THE CRAVINGS.
Nicotine nasal spray and the nicotine inhaler are available by prescription, as are the stop-smoking medications
bupropion
(Zyban) and varenicline (Chantix). Chew on it. Give your mouth something to do to fight a tobacco craving. Chew on sugarless gum or hard candy.

Trying to kid myself?
I wish
bupropion
was available for depression over here, as it is in the States, as that works on the dopamine system. I might ask about that when my CMHT appointment comes - if it does!

Nicotine addiction.
Bupropion
(Zyban) was approved in 1996 by the Food and Drug Administration as a treatment for nicotine dependence. Using buproprion or nicotine replacement therapies alone doubles the odds of successful quitting. Using a combination of these methods increases success rates even more.

Bupropion in the US.....advice please
I understand
Bupropion
is a better alternative to use. but its not licensed in the UK. I contacted Glaxo Kline Smith ( the manufacturer) in the uk, not really expecting a reply, but got a call the next day from them, which I think was brilliant!
