Asthma Attack 'n' Back (to A&E)
Had hockey trials tonight so I was grafting hard at the ice rink this evening. I was worried -- without good reason -- that by telling the coaches that I have moderate-severe asthma I would look like I'm making excuses (I'm not that great at ice hockey) so I said nothing and pushed. I used my inhaler

Well, yesterday after Dr had me take an extra 20 mg prednisone to total 60 mg /day I was able to walk room to room without severe shortness if breath last night. This am woke up with heart rate in 120s before getting out of bed! I do take a heart medicine for the heart rate but its just gotten higher

The trials and tribulations of COPD
So here I am, It's 23.52 and apart from replying to messages I haven't been able to do much else. The last 48hrs or more have been an emotional roller-coaster to say the least. Where to start? If you read my previous post you will know my dad is in Stage 4 of COPD. I'm what you would call a part time

My alarm goes off at 6am....Mum is fast asleep still after an unsettled night with Dad. I make my way downstairs, put the kettle on a prepare my lunch for a 10hr day at work. This is how I start most mornings....... Dad woke up and sat on the edge of the bed not being able to breath this morning as

Thinking Again...About Stuff...
I don't know...what with tip toeing about in case of causing offence...to welcoming another happy little Troll...must be the weekend when the Trolls emerge from their dank hidey-holes...to constant feckin' rain and having to have, not just the range lit, but all the lights on and still rattling away

Paramedic problems
I wonder if anyone else has had problems with paramedics. My son is now 5 and was formally diagnosed with asthma at aged 18months. nnThe last two occasions I have called an ambulance during an asthma attack, the paramedics have told me he it's not asthma as he is not wheezing. On both occasions he has

NEBULISER
I was recently prescribed a Nebuliser by Harefield Hospital. I tried it 3 times and had a bad reaction. 125 pulse rate, oxygen decreasing and swollen feet. Felt terrible. I did question this latest treatment because as well as Severe COPD I also suffer with Severe PH. I stopped using it and checked

I need some advice from people using home nebulisers
Hey, Just wondering if anyone has nebulisers at home? Have they helped you? I've always been under the impression that Drs don't like home nebulisers for asthmatics as if your bad enough to need nebulisers you should be seeking medical attention anyway. However in the last few months my asthma has

FEV
Surprised that I am still walking, if not slowly, around! My lung function test FEV was just 14%! Although I wasn't feeling great the day of the test and could barely blow into the machine never mind expel air, it did come as a bit of a shock. At least I have now been given a nebulizer. Anybody out

Just a rant really!
Just need a rant really - I am currently really struggling as my asthma (allergy/hayfever triggered) has come back after stopping breastfeeding my third little monkey. I have gone from normal running around with no symptoms, minimal meds and a peak flow of 400 to spending 3 weeks with a peak flow of

Hi, I have recently started a trial of anti IgE injections xolair and was wondering if anybody else who is on this medication experiencing any side effects. I have had severe vomiting, restlessness and aching arms and legs. I am hoping these will subside as this is the last resort to try and control
