New update 1\2018 😊😎😷
I'm sorry I hadn't been on here in a long time... I've honestly been busy with other things... But I'm back now and I have some updates... I had to go to the ER the other week cause my asthma was really bad and my inhaler wasn't working anymore ... Well I got a nebulizer and it's been so awesome 😊

Pnumothorax update/questions
I posted a few weeks ago about my husband, he had a SP around five weeks ago. He was told that on top of that he had a really bad chest infection which he was given a nebuliser and IV antibiotics. He was also sent home with oral antibiotics (2weeks) which he has now finished. He seems a lot better and

Concerned
Had an attack on New Year’s Day, first one in 20 years. Was admitted and given nebs, steroids and antibiotics, discharged home later that evening. Chest X-ray clear. Here I am a week later with no real progress. Seen go who prescribed me further steroids. Feeling totally wiped out. My peak flow was 350

Had enough now
Hi , I’ve been having problems with my asthma since the end of November. I have rescue pred and antibiotics and suffer from severe brittle asthma. My asthma has been well controlled until recently and I have lost 6 stone which has helped immensely but since November it’s all gone downhill. I tried to

Pneumococcal Meningitis
Hi, My dad was admitted to Whipps cross hospital on 2nd Jan after mentioning flu like symptoms on Saturday 30th Dec - he went to work and come home which is unlike him. He hasn't had a sick day in 17+ years. He stayed indoors, resting and barely moved from 30th - 1st. My mum said that he complained of

Ventolin didn't seem to work
In the early hours of the 27th December I had a severe asthma attack that put me in hospital. My peak flow reading was less than 120 even though I'd taken Ventolin through my spacer and the paramedics put me on the nebuliser. The reading hadn't gone up by the time I got to hospital. My usual peak flow

ABPA and then the flu
First of all, I would like to say I am so happy to have found this forum. I recently got diagnosed with ABPA with bronchiectasis and have been in denial about it (I’m 37 and was previously a pretty well controlled asthmatic). Then I contracted influenza A (though I got the flu vaccine) and had a reality

Daily Sputum from coughing
Good afternoon everyone, I suffer with severe Bronchiectasis and I use my nebuliser/postural draining daily to bring up Sputum. I use ventolin and saline Nebs to do this. I usually can cough up a sample container full in the morning and then less as the day goes on. When I have an infection coming in

Bronchiectasis
Hi, This is my first post here. Diagnosed with non CF bronchiectasis last year after a five year period of on/off coughing fits and infections. Physio gave me a flutter device which I use faithfully every day. I also have crohn's disease and take immuno-suppressants which may have been the cause of bronchiectasis

Pocket nebuliser
Hi All, Lidl will be selling their pocket nebuliser again from Thursday 4th January. I can highly recommend it, I bought one 5 years ago and I am still using it. It is very quiet, it works like a vape machine; I can take it on the train with me commuting to work, as well camping when I take the scouts

Saline nebuliser
Hiya all, I have a nebuliser and the consultant suggested I use it with saline, which I have, but I am never sure how many times a day to use it. Any suggestions?

FCR on Flair trial at Christie Hospital
71yr male diagnosed 2yrs ago, CLL (Binet stage B) researched specialists and decided on Dr Bloor at Christie Hospital in Manchester, an excellent choice. W&W for 18 months until he found a mass of raised lymph nodes in my abdomen. Dr Bloor suggested the Flair trial and I was randomised for FCR beginning

When will this end?
Firstly, let me wish you all a very Happy New Year and I hope everyone has an enjoyable time tonight. Not sure where to start with my continuing asthma story. I have been having an exacerbation for the last 7 weeks due to a viral cough caught from my DH. He still has a cough after nearly 9 weeks but

Feeling down
Sorry I'm not sure where to put this and I'm sorry if I'm rambling on! I posted a week or so ago about my husband! He had a Spontaneous Pnumothorax. Anyway he has his follow up appointment on the 4th Jan. I'm literally tearing myself up inside and have already convinced myself they will diagnose either
