Estrogen therapy rediscovered
An alternative to using patches is a
Bicalutamide
monotherapy with 150 mg which also does not reduce estrogens. You can also add low dose patches (0.1 mg twice a week) to a Lupron therapy to increase estrogens and mitigate side effects this way.

Started
Bicalutamide
immediately then added Lupron to ADT. Then took the advice I had given my Dad 27 years before, "Get to the biggest, best Cancer center as fast as you can." So I called Fred Hutchinson in Seattle and they're reply was 'We get you 10s in as soon as we can.'

Not responding to Xtandi
Diagnosed 2008, RP same year, followed by salvage radiation in 2012, then Chemo (docetaxel) in 2016, then Lupron (for life), then
bicalutamide
(Casodex). In April, last year, switched out Casodex to Xtandi as psa rates were rising. Current psa Jan/21 7.24 with a doubling rate of 7.1 months.

Bicalutamide
/ Lupron/Reclast, now going to Abiraterone/ Pred.... I am concerned about taking Pred for a long period.. I had a second option at UCLA Medical Center, and they suggested I do Apalutamide or Enzalutamide. I would like to hear from anyone who has had these other drugs and results...

Casodex/Bicalutamide or MDV3100/Enzalutamide can lead to promotion rather than suppression of Prostate Cancer Metastasis
Just came across this study that seems like quite an important finding for those of us who might be taking or have taken Casodex/
Bicalutamide
or enzalutamide.

Planned Chemo tomorrow need suggestion and information
Bicalutamide
helped to drop PSA to 10 in 6 months. in Sep 2019 PSA started increasing so the doctor asked to go for Abireteron acetate. we were on Abireteron acetate for 1 year(due to covid there was a gap of 15-20 days twice in 6 months, I was not able to send him medicine ).

Advice and Opinions would be great.
So we have done triple hormone therapy
Bicalutamide
(which we stopped a few years back) Degarelix and Zytiga are also not suppressing a PSA rise now which is currently 61. It has been as high as 433 about 9 years ago. We got several years out of the above. He is still asymptomatic.

Urine bag
His only theraphy was hormone one - first casodex (
bicalutamide
) and now eligard every six month. Six months ago his PSA was around 0.7. Today he had a check and he received a urine bag, as he is retaining too much urine.

End of BAT; a few lessons
This will be the last as the anti androgen I use (
bicalutamide
) failed in spectacular fashion. I will post on subsequent treatments. The pattern of failure may interest. Hist: Failure of long running ADT (zoladex) was about 2015 when I started bicaulutamide.

A study of patient's choice of ADT: bicalutamide, a gonadotrophin-releasing hormone analogue or orchidectomy
bi-polar treatment can be done on lupron but not on
bicalutamide
. While on
bicalutamide
you can inject all the testosterone you want -- but the body is blocked from using it -- https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16225519/

Prostate Cancer Treatment Advice
My oncologist recommends continuing active monitoring while taking
Bicalutamide
, as long as PSA is decreasing or not increasing. At this time I don’t have a treatment plan beyond what I described. Happily married and lifestyle is important to me.

PSA back on the rise - or hitting Nadir?
I started Prostap injections \= \\
bicalutamide
50 mg in Jan 2020 when PSA was >5. A sudden drop resulted in a PSA 3 months ago of 0.71. This time I was expecting the pattern of 30-40% drop to continue, and was alarmed to see that it had crept up marginally (up to 0.75).

PSA drop to 0.48
Grandads PSA has dropped down to 0.48 after treatment of 13 cycles of docetaxel, lueprorelin shot and is currently taking daily
bicalutamide
. Although everyone seems to be happy in the family about the PSA dropping I would of liked it to come down to nadir!!! Is this of concern ...

Bicalutamide or not?
Oncologist wants me to take
bicalutamide
when I get the Lupron. I'm reading in the journals and studies that it may just create side effects that would offset what appears to be a minimum benefit if I'm feeling no pain. QUESTION-
