We have no signs of cancer progress despite slowly rising PSA after radiation treatment, which is currently an indication to start again with
Bicalutamide
, which may be relevant in the future if PSA begins to rise faster. 2021-07-08 16:00 Present Oncologist, pathologist, radiologist and urologist.

Zoladex + Bicalutamide
At my last clinic meeting (over the telephone, of course) an onco I had never spoken to before seemed surprised I was not taking
Bicalutamide
alongside the Zoladex.

His only therapy so far was hormone one - first casodex (
bicalutamide
) and now for the past 2 and a half years eligard every six month. About 8 months ago he also received an urinary catheter (foley), as he is retaining too much urine.

PSA Starting to Rise.
After 2 years of Firmagon/
bicalutamide
monthly and 1 year of PSA below 0.01 (lowest they measure in St. Louis) I went off in April. PSA rose to 0.01 in June and is 0.04 now. Should I worry? History: PSA 172 (10/17); Surgery (05/18); Radiation (spring 2019); Chemo (Fall 2019).

Zoladex increase in PSA
After being on
Bicalutamide
since May 2020 I switched to Zoladex as my PSA had increased from 0.9 to 3.8 in April. I expected my PSA to drop below the 3.8 but my result this week came out at 6.9. Testosterone over the last month has dropped from 19.3 to 0.7.

Father recently diagnosed with metastatic PC
He was put on 3monthly leuprolide acetate injection and given
bicalutamide
for the first two weeks. As he is anemic we got him some iron infused intravenously so that his hemoglobin is at an acceptable level.

My Intermittent Bicalutamide mono therapy
Following PSA recurrence in late 2014 I've been treated by
bicalutamide
50 mg. In Sept 2020 we decided to give a break and stopped all medication (
bicalutamide
and tamoxifen). At that time my PSA was 0.02 and testosterone only 58. Note that tamoxifen is causing my T level to go down.

PSA climbed.
I also took
bicalutamide
for a week before starting Lupron. Wondering if after 6 years if my cancer is becoming CR?

Stop bicalutamide when T low?
Searching past posts, I understand
Bicalutamide
may start feeding the cancer and, not surprisingly, have side effects.

How to know where a doc stands, without first becoming a patient?
My diagnosing urologist has not really been involved in my treatment since my biopsy, as I moved on to an MO for
bicalutamide
, but my urologist probably would have been willing to prescribe it, too, even if reluctantly.

I have been on
