Afib after vomiting-is there such a thing?
Hi, I am a fit 56 year old who had a migraine, threw up and ended up with afib with rvr and a sustained pulse of over 150 for 40 hours. Usual resting pulse is low 50s. BMI is 22. This potentially happened once before 10 years ago under the same circumstances but it righted itself after 12 hours and

The continuing saga of the purple toe
Surprise, surprise, after having a MRI scan of my legs, an echocardiogram, an ECG and a twenty four hour heart monitor, no trace of blockages except what the consultant called a 'pinch' in a leg artery, suspected of causing a blood clot and the purple toe. But, on my last appointment with the consultant

waiting for a diagnosis
hi, I have just joined this forum and hope someone can reassure me. I have been having chest pains but put it down to indigestion until last week when it was worse. Referal to cardiology after 24hr holter monitor result
At the end of Sept I had a 24hr holter monitor having experienced some intense palpitations. I was told the result should be with my gp withing 2 weeks. A couple of days ago (7weeks after having it done) I looked on my GP online records. I saw there was a letter with the ECG results there, but frustratingly

Can your HR be over 200 without you noticing?
Simply that. I bought a new Fitbit Charge 6 last week to try and eradicate the weird 'peaks' and inaccurate HR readings of my old Luxe. I've had a week of cheerful accuracy, until today. 209bpm, sitting quietly at my desk?? And 52bpm either side seems odd, it's not that low during sleep... I didn't feel

24 hour monitor
My paroxysmal AF was not picked up on a 24 hour monitor. I was checked a couple of times over a 5 year timespan and told that I just had lots of ectopics. Finally, when it became more severe the GP eventually relented and booked me in for a seven day monitor whcich picked up the atrial fibrillation

past my sell by date part 3
I sort of struck lucky with a new gp who ordered a raft of tests “Sort of” because whereas I couldn’t understand some results I have been booked in for a US urinary tract because neither antibiotics or pessaries helped. Despite already taking amlodipine for bp my latest reading is 150/75. An ECG was

Shingles Vaccine
I am 73 and have been invited for a shingles vaccination. I have PMR and Hashimotos thyroiditis and have had severe reactions to previous Covid jabs such that my consultant advised me not to have any further boosters. Does anyone have any advice or experience to share regarding the Shingles jab? I know

Myocarditis - new here
Hello, I’m glad I’ve found this chat as I feel pretty isolated with this new condition. My story sounds like some I’ve read on here: I spent a week in hospital 7 weeks ago following a very painful episode of heartburn - which turned out to be my stomach but a blood test revealed high troponins. Since

Shingles Vaccine
I am going for a shingles vaccination on 29th June. I know there has been information about it on here before but I can't find it. I know I need the Shingrix vaccine and believe that you need a 2nd one 2 months later. I would like to hear about your experiences of Shingrix. . Of course, I have googled

incredibly lucky
I feel so incredibly lucky after reading some of your stories. I had a HA 5 yrs ago, was told that if someone has to have a HA they would want one like yours? It was explained to me that it was on the right side and very low down?? I stayed overnight in hospital and the first time I saw a consultant

Emergency cardiac admission to hospital. Advice please.
I had severe left sided pain Wednesday evening. Grabbed my hospital bag and took a taxi to emergency. It wasn't a heart attack but i was admitted to cardiology ward because of irregular ecg. On Sunday morning i am having a cardiac catheterization to look for and treat any narrowing of arteries. I

Sanofi vaccine and shark liver oil
I don’t think this has been posted before but the fact Sanofi is for over 75s makes sense if the shark oil is an immune booster and apparently is also given in the flu vaccine for the over 75s. I wonder if those with fish allergies/vegans were aware, but thinking people have probably had it and been
