Afib + other Arrhythmia??

I've had Afib for just over a year. I feel episodes v strongly and got a Withings watch to do ECG's as and when. I'm on the list for an ablation at St George's, on meds in meantime n subject to review. My hr is normally low.In recent months I've felt episodes but the Sinus Rhythm is ok but clearly something else is going on, eg other Arrhythmias.

Has anyone else experienced these 'other' episodes? Had to have a pacemaker instead of ablation?

My gp will call me tomorrow about my recent 24hr monitor.

Thank you in advance

It could be PACs or PVCs also known as ectopic beats. They sometimes precede an afib episode. Unpleasant but not particularly harmful.

Sounds like etopic beats which though irritating are benign. No way you need a pacemaker unless your heart slows drastically and/or you have fainting episodes. My EP noticed some pauses of several seconds and whilst I never passed out I did have a few dizzy times so we eventually agreed on a PM which I didn't want. Been no problem at all except I had to give up electric welding.

Thanks for your reply. My GP called today re Hter 24 hr tape which showed irregular episodes of Afib which I wasn't aware of. I only felt one close to the end of tape. It was good to know something visible as it's so hard to catch intentionally.

Shes contacting Cardio to urge a prompt appointment. Fingers crossed and thanks again. So much to take on board 🤞

Hopefully your consultation has got to the bottom of it but my mum gets these too. She also had SVT before the Afib developed for which she had an ablation. That was almost 20 years ago and she is wondering if it is starting to be a problem again (along with Afib!). I'll ask her for more details and let you know here if you like.

Good that you have had the monitor, incidentally I had one in Surrey for 48 hours and the report that came back was good, request your copy.

I also had pauses and other sundries but the medics just focussed on the AF burden, which was 7% and offered an ablation with 85% success quoted.

Yes - daily. Ectopic beats in runs are a kind of AF as far as I can see, also arising from the atrium, but can be more uncomfortable owing to their unpredictable nature.
