14 months post Successful Ablation & increasing Arrythmias.
Hi I am getting Arrythmias with increasing regularity after ablation Feb 23.Last talk with Arrythmia Nurse was Atrial ectopics with pause. My readings now seem to have chucked in a couple of premature beats. It feels like I am having AFib symptoms.Light headed, dizzy, exhausted but not all the time. Where

A quick update for those that remember my recent posts about the Ablation complications!
Ablation 16/3, artery got damaged, 3 outpatient appointments, 2 failed attempts at thrombin infusion under ultrasound, emergency 3 day admission to hospital with emergency pseudoaneurysm and arteriovenous fistula repair (pretty major surgery involving patching the damaged artery with cow veins) . Most

advice please
I used this forum some years ago when first diagnosed and was so grateful to everyone. I need advice again, my attacks of Afib are becoming more frequent, I have flecainide as Pill in the Pocket and am using it. My query is should I try and see my GP for a EP consult or just carry on taking the meds

Holter Monitor
I have just had a monitor fitted for 48 hours. The reason for this is after my cardioversion which only lasted about 2 hours I went back into afib. Howerver after about 4 days during the night while in bed I was in perfect sinus rythem. This lasted for about 2 weeks every night and the nurse could not

Can anyone clarify this wording
Hi all Was diagnosed last week with Atrial Fibrillation. Needless to say very worried and upset. Have been reading about what I can do myself - especially weight loss. I have been reading a study and wondered if anyone with medical knowledge could clarify exactly what ‘arrhythmia- free survival’ means

so glad to have found this forum. I have had persistent afib for at least 10 years which has contributed to a couple of strokes, a multitude of TIA’s, heart attacks and an anxiety disorder which destroyed my mental health. In the last year I have had a pace maker installed. To treat my afib I had

Anyone else in the same boat?!
Hi! A quick review! Diagnosed with fast AFib four years ago and HCM a year later. On too many meds to mention! Last October had my first ablation-which the hospital said was successful. Unfortunately, that triggered another arrhythmia called atrial tachycardia. Back in for another- and the last one

Would you like to know more about your antiarrhythmic medication?
Upon diagnosis of Atrial fibrillation (AF) many are prescribed antiarrhythmic medication(s). These help to restore the normal (sinus) heart rhythm. They work by blocking specific electrical conduction channels in the heart. Some can slow the activation of the heart muscle, and others slow the recovery

Heart failure not stroke is the most common complication of atrial fibrillation -- BMJ Journal

chemo and genetic testing questions
My husband’s genetic testing of the biopsies came back. It’s 19 pages and I am having a super difficult time interpreting. His Oncologist Urologist is overwhelmed with duties and we probably won’t get reviewed at the level we need. attaching the executive summary. They said he tests positive for SPOP

AFib for past 4 days
Just wondering if anyone out there has experienced being in AFib for longer than a day? And does it revert back? Usually I return to sinus rhythm If I’m only in AF for a few hours or a day but this time it’s been 4 days. Fortunately I don’t have any symptoms like I usually have apart from not being

Is the rhythm of your heart regular?
A simple pulse check only takes 30 seconds! Atrial fibrillation, also known as AF or AFib is a quivering or irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia) that can lead to an AF-related stroke or heart failure if left untreated. If you have AF, your heart beats in an irregular rhythm causing the blood to not

Cryo ablation 6 days ago..am I back in AF?
I've been for an ECG this afternoon the results of which are being passed to the arrhythmia nurse team at the JR in Oxford, where I had a cryo ablation last Friday. AF symptoms of breathlessness and feeling faint and then some for a couple of days and now a bit more settled but irregular and fast pulse

5 Days Post Ablation and getting an ECG
After three days of being extremely breathless and light headed following a cryo ablation at the JR last Friday I'm now feeling more settled, my pulse still fast and irregular but not as extreme. I had a call from an arrhythmia nurse (at last) at the JR who was very helpful. The next step is an ECG

No one died from A F
I posted earlier today . I am not now being negative , I am trying to be pragmatic . On this brilliant forum we are constantly told “ no one dies of AF “. I was wondering what actually brought on the first bout of A F to people here. Mine came on years after Mitral Valve repair . 2 long ablations

What is a cardioversion?
If you have AF you may have been offered a cardioversion, but may be unsure of what to expect? A
cardioversion
is a procedure to convert your heart from AF back into normal (sinus) rhythm. This is achieved by administering a rhythm control medication (antiarrhythmic drug) by mouth or through

Lopressor dose titration
Permanent afib 100mgm of Lopressor am & 50 pm plus eliquis. Decided to cut back to 50 in am because of blurred vision and now have had upset stomach times 1 week plus HR back up to low 100's. Thought I felt better on lower dose but maybe not??
