Thanks to everyone who commented on my post. Unfortunately Heart Rate shot up to a very dangerous level and was ambulances to Hospital where I was monitored overnight and at no time did BP RISE and two ECG showed normal rhythm. Unable to sleep as was parked in admissions but well looked after. dIscharged this morning as nothing showed up. Still getting symptoms so hopefully will seen in a special hub for arrhythmia next week. Still panic when the symptoms start. Thank you all for being so supportive.

I hope things get sorted out for you next week. It's all so worrying when the heart is involved and best not to ignore symptoms.
Best wishes

Do you think the panic sends your heart rate too high, or the AF? I find that occasionally, during an episode of either AF or ectopic rhythms, I can suddenly feel "hot" and have an urgent need to sit down till that passes. That is a panicky feeling indeed and must send my rate through the roof. So far, it has always passed on its own. An extra small dose of bisoprolol can help me, too.

Do you not think the "hotness" might be a result of the high heart rate? I sweat a lot in afib as if I have been exercising particularly towards the end of an episode.
I wonder? I have always thought it was a drop in BP. It's a horrible feeling for me. I'd say it's the nearest I get to feeling as if I am going to faint, or worse. It very easily brings a panicky feeling in its wake - awful really.

I have had sensations of faintness and dizziness when converting to NSR on a few occasions. My episodes of afib have become more frequent recently - I suspect I had covid in April - and are now coming every 2/3weeks. But they are also becoming a lot less symptomatic. I went into afib yesterday afternoon which I put down to having the colonoscopy or rather the horrible prep and very little sleep for 2 nights plus the shock of bleeding all over the floor when they took the canula out. But this time I did not even have the frequent weeing - a first. After the throat constriction wore off I could not tell I was in afib apart from taking my pulse.
I had AF this morning and felt faint as it switched to NSR. That was a first for me and might have been a coincidence. Mine tends to have a resting rate of 85-120bpm so is not especially symptomatic, thankfully. I wouldn't want to have a faster rate as on the occasions I have had, oh my - horrible.

According to my Kardia when the afib starts its usually at a rate of 140-150bpm but it does not feel that fast . I did not look at the Kardia yesterday as I have decided that seeing that fast rate actually makes me feel worse. I just take the extra Nebivolol and wait for it to pass. If I distract myself reading I don't notice it. Yesterday I was able to make the dinner and wash up without too much trouble though I did feel tired .
Hi
CCB Diltiazem saved me. Brought down rapid AF now to 60s with only med at 120mg. It went down in 2 stages. 1st year down to 86-96bpm. 2nd year when I lost 3kg, down to 60s Day. Night stays my normal low 47avg bpm.
Beware of Metoprolol as it showed pauses on a 24hr Heart Monitor.
