Considering HDR Brachy, any recommendations for doctors in the San Francisco Bay Area?
Met with one Dr. who recommended one day HDR Brachy and 5 weeks IMRT. Hearing CarverD's positive experience and noting slightly higher cure rates than EBRT, I want to take a closer look at this option. Any recommendations for doctors who specialize in this located in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Trying to decide if I will continue ADT after 9 months.
Haven’t posted for some time so I’ll start from the beginning. Had PSA of 6.09 May of 2018. Rose to 8.93 May of 2019. Had biopsy which showed 3+3 Gleason grade group 1 in 8 of 12 cores, no evidence of lymph or seminal invasion. Perineural invasion noted. Did active surveillance until May 2020. PSA at

I'm new here, High Decipher Score still good for SBRT
Hi, appreciate all the info here. This is my initial post, I'm 64, biopsy in Feb. 2021 shows 5 of 12 cores with PC, 3 with Gleason 6 and 2 with Gleason 7 (3+4). PSA is 5.7, up from 4.6 last year. My Urologist said it looks confined in prostate based on MRI and he considers it intermediate risk.

Stopping Xtandi due to Neuropathy
My profile shows my detailed history. Diagnosed 2/2020 aPCA, mets on pelvis bone and one lymph node, I’ve been on Eligard and Xtandi since then. I developed numbness in toes a month or so after starting my treatment. I had read Xtandi can cause the numbness so wasn’t concerned since it was mild. In the

Finished radiation
45 treatments. IMRT. Not much in the way of side effects. Bit of an occasional mild burning sensation during urination. The hardest part was hitting the facility with a full bladder and an empty rectum at 11:00 am every day. I'll get PSA and testosterone test in a couple of weeks.

Stage 4 initial recommendation Docetaxel and ADT
MD Anderson recommends docetaxel and ADT with primary site radiation after. I see there's some data of maintaining better control with early chemo, but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced it. My urologist recommended ADT and IMRT to all sites. I'm inclined to have more faith in MD Anderson

Pneumonia or Thyroid?
Hi All, Firstly, thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum, which is a god send to those of us with GP’s who aren’t informed about thyroid disease, to say the least. "Prostate cancer lives as it is born" question (Radiation resistance)
After reading this article years ago, I always wondered about my situation. My gleason is/way 4+3 (95% - 4) so basically gleason 8. My psa started to elevate in 2015 a a faster rate, when my PSA was at 10, I had IMRT and high dose brachytherapy. Two months later my PSA was down to 5, then I felt really

Finding a good Medical Team
PSA was elevated in October. Couldn't see for 3 weeks, biopsy Gleason 10. Appointment with surgeon took 3 weeks after having bone scan and MRI. I was diagnosed Stage IV in January, mets to 1 lymph, sacrum and T7. Took another 3 weeks to see radiation oncologist who indicates IMRT in 2-3 months and

Best prostate specialists
Can no longer be on active surveillance so now looking for the best options. I'm told about Dr. Busch, Dr. Biagioli, the Mayo, the Cleveland Clinic, MD Anderson, John Hopkins, etc Is there an accurate listing of who is rated as the country's best specialist in their field? If I'm need to travel and

2nd radiation potential
Wondering if you can take another round of radiation? Had 80gy of pelvic and prostate bed rad 4 yrs ago. Latest PSMA scan shows several significant lymph nodes along each sidewall of pelvis. Been on systematic treatment Lupron for 2+ years. Could IMRT or Proton target just the large lymph nodes

Ra223 Xofigo and Cabazataxel compared
Since diagnosis 2009 at 62yo, with inoperable Gleason 9, but with low Psa only 6, I had failed RP attempt in 2010, but has EBRT + 2 years ADT, then pause showing Pca progress so I am still on ADT, and had salvation IMRT to PG, Cosadex, Zytiga, 5 doses Docetaxel, all not stopping Pca progress hence move

What Action Should I Take?
What I’ve been learning lately is leaving me uncertain of my path, both prescribed and my role. I seek the input and experience I know is here, which I’ve been most grateful for. After having competed a clinical trial in September for my 4+3 with ECE and SVI, 1 lymph node T3B disease after RP in 2019

Can prostate still bleed after Radiation Treatments (HDRBT and IMRT)?
I remember reading that prostate becomes hard as a rock once fried by HDRBT and IMRT, if this is accurate, can it still bleed? Does it shed any tissue or fiber that comes out through urination? Asking because in addition to having blood in my urine I urinated couple of good size of blood clots (almost

? Should I stop casodex prior to PSMA Pet scan for better detection rate.
I am anticipating having PSMA Pet scan at UCLA in March. At 22 months post RP PSA has risen to .19 with a PSADT of <=3 mths. Per urologists, started casodex 50 mg 1x. After 23 days on casodex my PSA went to .14 from .19. I am considering stopping casodex for 2 months in the belief that the scan may
