Isn’t Rheumatoid like long Covid?
So the government has set up a £10million investment for one stop physical and mental services for Covid. Reading about the symptoms it seems to reflect what many who have Rheumatoid also suffer. It’s time we had as much support and and interest in our well being. Our Long Rheumatoid needs exactly

HRT and arthritis
Hello! I’m a post menopausal woman who has been dealing with all the effects of menopause and also a new psoriatic arthritis diagnosis. I recently started HRT for the menopause symptoms but have been noticing that my joints feel really good since I started HRT. I think it has reduced my inflammation.

is it norming to have pain while on a biologic
I was diagnosed with zero negative Rheumatoid Arthritis and have been on a biologic for 3 months and take sulfasalazine. My blood test has shown my inflammation markers are at 1 which is very good however I am in constant pain with hands, wrist and shoulder pain is this common trait with RA.

Prescribed hydroxychloroquine
I’ve not been on for a while After months on amitriptyline for fibromyalgia I’ve just seen a different rheumatologist at my follow up and was diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis/early RA. She prescribed hydroxychloroquine which sounds quite well tolerated. I’m a bit worried about the long term eye

Running with lower back osteo arthritis
Hi, I'm just doing Cto5k and I'm on w3r3. I used to run (sprinting) at school, I've not really run since and now I'm in my 60s with osteoarthritis of my back which is not overly troublesome but I'm also cautious about not making it worse. Does anyone else have this condition and how has running affected

Does this sound like Psoriatic Arthritis to you?
So after being told I had RA I was then told I didn’t as although I had lots of swelling I had no joint damage. However I test positive for the HLA-B27 gene and have swollen ankles around the joints, swollen knees, swollen Achilles’ tendon and what the rheumatologist described as tennis elbow on one

Vaccines for the immune compromised
Found this article about Shingrix. It is from 2018, however the CDC statement on Shingrix is still making the statement about not knowing enough about this vaccine in people with immune-related diseases (like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and others) so the information has not yet been updated to put

Hyperparathyroidism
For many years I have had a slight raise in calcium level in bloods. No treatment necessary as long as I don't get a 'spike' Now have steroid and Methotrexate for possible PMR or late onset arthritis. Have been prescribed Vit D but no calcium supplement which most people get. Presume this is because

Would you take part in a rheumatology research study in the COVID-19 era? If not, tell us about your concerns
If you are aged 18 years or older and have a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, please take a few minutes to complete a brief online survey by the Research into Inflammatory Arthritis Centre (RACE), a collaboration between the Universities of Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Oxford that is supported

Occasional sore tongue
It seems my tongue and sometimes the roof of my mouth feel like I burnt myself with a hot beverage when that is not the case. Sometimes brushing the area with my tooth brush seems to help. I’ve tried all sorts of toothpaste formulations. In can vary during the day and from day to day. I avoid any toothpastes
