Study says orchiectomy has higher risks for fracture than chemical castration. I wonder why.

Atrial Tachycardia ablation
Has anyone here had an ablation for atrial tachycardia after they’ve had afib ablations? I’m curious to know if that ablation was any different than your afib ablation? I’ve had 3 afib ablations and it seems they’ve resolved the afib and flutter (knock on wood). But they’ve left me with more regular

A question on BP
I am on Nebivolol 5mg for the last 2 months. I take my BP reading about 2 times a day and have watched my pressure go down. I hadn’t had a AFib episode in over a month since on the meds. Night before last, my BP was 114/59. I then became worried it was too low, and couldn’t fall asleep. Once

Cellulitis in foot and hands, leading to dramatic skin changes all over my body
I have primary lymphoedema in my left foot which has been well controlled through compression and daily creaming of the affected area. Despite showing no signs of any lesion I developed cellulitis which went un-diagnosed for a week or so as I was unaware of what it was. My foot and ankle were very swollen

Junctional Rhythm
I have had Paroxysmal Afib since 2017, and take Warfarin and Bisoprolol ( now been 5mgs twice daily for a year ). No other drugs. I have been having a lot of unclassified results on my Kardia lately. A few is normal and I always thought it was interference or similar, or me not being still enough. However

New here
Hello everyone I'm a woman in my 60s and was first diagnosed with paroxysmal AFib about a year ago. I've been having an episode about every 4-5 months and was prescribed Flecainide to be taken at the onset of an episode and that seems to stop it within about half an hour, luckily. Unfortunately,

Increased Platelets
Hello I have been diagnosed with ET jak2+ for 5 years following a heart attack where they found my platelets were at 1 million. The hospital did not alert me but my GP did at my 1 month follow up visit. I was sent to a hematologist/oncologist. I was put on Hydrea 500mg 7 tabs a week eventually increased

Confused
Diagnosed with afib before Xmas and given 2.5 bisoprolol Waiting for appointment with cardiologist. On a visit recently to nurse at GP surgery for BP check,I mentioned that I suffered dizzyness with meds.Later that day got a phone call from her saying that doctor had dropped dose to 1.25.Surely this would

Statins for paroxysmal Atrial Fibulation?
Hello Everyone. I have P-Afib which is well managed with Verapamil 120mcg. I take Ramiprimil 5mg and Apixaban. I'm lucky my Afib has remained mild once on this treatment for the last two /three years - hopefully will stay that way- providing I keep taking Verapamil. I get the odd flutter for a few seconds

Accuracy of heart monitors during exercise
When I was recently diagnosed with AF I was told by a BHF nurse that the majority of HR monitors can't give an accurate reading due to the inconsistency of heartbeats. Yet I'm often reading concerns on this forum about HR readings on fitness monitors, fitbits etc. and wonder if there is a truly accurate

new to this forum
hello to everyone from New Mexico, US. I am finding out more about heart issues here on this forum than from my EP and cardiologist combined! Thank you all. I am 69 and had one of the first open heart surgeries done in Los Angeles at 9 years. ( for an ASD) There is still a small leak but mostly corrected

Is there such a thing as ‘slow AFib?’
Hello all! St Barts in London have offered me an ablation! Taunton referred me to Bristol but they were unwilling because I also have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and they didn’t have a good success rate for people like me.☹️ I was then referred to St Barts and they have said they’ll give it a go.

Hello, long time lurker on here and thank you to all the regular posters who keep us lurkers so well informed. Sorry in advance for the long post :) My afib story started in Feb 19 and like all new Afibbers I was scared and ignorant of the condition. I am very lucky to have no symptoms and don't

I had 3 ablations at MUSC to address PVC’s and ARVC, got an ICD after that, then developed AFib followed by an atrial ablation and finally a cardioversion to fix atrial flutter a month after the shocker. I’ve felt fine through all of this - asymptomatic all along. I’m 70 and was a runner for 22 years

I have just read a 'Healthline' publication dated January 2023 about the long term effects of blood thinners and anticoagulants. I am a bit concerned with the content of this article and would like members of our group opinions. The article stated that there was no reversal agent for Riveroxaban and

Stroke Prevention Day
The Stroke Association are highlighting the link between AF and the possibility of a stroke. I can echo that, as I was cardio fit with none of the other risks from weight, smoking, drinking, but I had AF and I was not prescribed an anticoagulant. On 6 July 2016 I had a stroke. The following words
