I am on Nebivolol 5mg for the last 2 months. I take my BP reading about 2 times a day and have watched my pressure go down. I hadn’t had a AFib episode in over a month since on the meds.
Night before last, my BP was 114/59. I then became worried it was too low, and couldn’t fall asleep. Once I finally did I woke up and was in Afib. Like everyone has to pee constantly. I then drank a cup of coconut water thinking I had no minerals left and I normalize within minutes.
Question: did the BP go too low, did my worry about it create the AF.
I will be calling my GP to ask also maybe a lower dose?
Anyway while in Afib it felt like my heart was being squeezed which I never felt that when I wasn’t on medication.
I think there are so many unanswered questions, that, that itself gives us all anxiety. Ugh!
Basic question is, too low of BP can that cause AFib?

Personally I don't think your BP was too low, but I guess it depends what a normal rate is for you. I'm sure you know BP goes up and down depending on what you are doing. So a resting rate of 114/59 may be quite normal for you. My systolic rate has often gone below 100 and I usually drink some water to bring it up higher, this was advised by a nurse when I was once in hospital.
Ideal bp is 120/70 but also fluctuates a little naturally around those numbers.Mine is always usually 115/120 over 55/ 58. Make sure you are hydrayted,as that can cause bp to lower, and coincidentally, for AF to kick off.
You need not worry about your BP unless your are symptomatic - feel as though you will blackout or it falls and remains below 90/60. I am more than happy with BP of 114/59. When in AF BP is often all over the place but mine would always drop like a stone so if I stayed above 90 systolic I was happy BUT I’ve always had very low BP all of my life.
After GAs my blood pressure has dropped to 90/ 60 and despite feeling perfectly ok the nurses have refused to let me out of bed even to go to the loo and insisted on a saline drip till it came back up again.
Snap - I was kept in another day until my blood pressure rose. I was gurgling like a hot water bottle with the amount I was drinking as well as a drip!
I'm reading that whilst the ideal BP is 120/80 that the "pulse pressure" should ideally be 40 between systolic/dystolic. In other words ones BP could be 130/90 Or 110/70 and whilst not ideal it could still be considered alright.
If you feel something 'different' happening do talk to your gp. This is happening to you, you're feeling it and you need to be advised accordingly. All the best
