T-CELLs Collected
However, on arrival at the
Apheresis
Room I was told the Team would try to cannulate me first as this is the preferred option. To this end a portable ultrasound machine and a nurse very experienced in cannulation using this piece of tech, joined the
Apheresis
Team to assist in my cannulation.

POST 3 - CAR-T cell therapy
I hope the above gives enough of an insight into the interim period between
Apheresis
and Admission without too much waffle and I hope to post again, probably once I receive my T-cells. Maureen UK

A critical review of Provenge. Your inputs welcomed?
Each of these affected elements is believed to be involved in the recognition and suppression of developing malignancies (42–45), and therefore a depletion of cellular elements by
apheresis
with inadequate replacement could exacerbate some or all of these age-related immunodeficiencies.

The process of extraction is called
Apheresis
and I had the procedure on Friday. The whole thing took about 5 hours and involved cannulas in both arms so it was quite restrictive, but it's reassuring to have had it done.

In terms of
apheresis
products, higher frequencies of PD-1+LAG-3+ CD8+ T cells and PD-1+ CD4+ T cells were found in dysfunctional response group.

Vaccine trial for Ovarian Cancer
After you finish your rounds of chemo you go through a process called
apheresis
to harvest your dendritic cells. They create the vaccine from your specific tumor and inject 8 sessions. 1 injection a week for three weeks and then 1 injection a month for 5 months.

We’re still here!
His veins aren’t even accessible anymore so o don’t know how they will do the
apheresis
aspect on him. I guess just his port? Ugh. Anyway, he’s still fighting, ass kicking cancer and we’ve now had over three years when his prognosis was closer to 3 months.

My dear nephew of 6 years old and liver transplantation
Now the prospects for his future are : either continue the
apheresis
until a new drug treatment becomes available. That could be a decade, few decades, never... it is a risk.

I characterize it as an "off label" use of a pretty standard procedure: essentially

, as they do to the donor in a stem cell transplant.

Zoom Zoom, CAR-T Cells to Treat Myeloma
The process involves an
apheresis
of one's own T cells, then genetically modifying them using a HIV virus vector to recognize surface antigens, be it CD19, CD38, or C138.

LDL Apheresis
https://www.facebook.com/groups/47098836197/ There is an interesting (and sometimes heated) conversation on the Facebook FH Group at the moment about LDL
Apheresis
. I like to dip into this group for a different perspective.
