Manage the Anxiety; Get Living
I think the real lesson here is to manage anxiety and get on living (provided stroke risk is minimized with
anticoagulants
). Here’s the big question: Why don’t the medics prescribe anxiolytics more often to help manage afib symptoms?

advice for coming off meds, before endoscopy procedure.
Firstly HNY everyone! I had HA & 5 stents fitted 7 months ago. I now have an appointment to have a endoscopy procedure this week& have been told to come off the two blood thinners I’m on. Plavex & asprin, for one week, which I’m afraid to do. I’ve tried getting in touch with the gastroenterologist

Atrial Fibrillation.
Hi I have had atrial flutter followed by a atrial fibrillation for approx 4 years. Medication I have tried has not been helpful and I take only an anticoagulant every day. I have bouts of af, of which I am fully aware, approx 3-4 times a week, when the heart jumps between 37 and 167 for 2 to 4/5 hours

bloodthinners
I’ve been on blood thinners for6 months after having a Pulmonary Embolism post surgery. I have completed my Chemo. 3 weeks ago and I have been told I can stop taking blood thinners as my risk is no greater than the normal person. Has anybody else been through a similar experience. I feel a bit anxious

what are possible further interventions for a wearisome Permanent AF condition ?After discussions about an ablation which was over Covid period, I have been in permanent AF for two and a half years and had one cardioversion which worked for two days. I have an echocardiogram once a year to check

anything different to do after another failed fet?
hi all, this is my first post here. Sadly I received the news that my 3rd fet cycle failed today. My clinic has changed the protocol of each cycle with this one being more intense I.e. short down regulation (about 2 weeks) with buserline for mild ademiosis, lubion + pessaries for progestrone, patches

Running out of med and other intervention options?
Waiting to back from Cardiologist but think there is little point in more ablations.I’m thinking I would have better quality of life just taking
anticoagulants
and not bothering with the rest of the poisons. 72 years of age and previously extremely fit and active now falling asleep, tired and lacking

OTD BFN with Euploid - any advice?
hi all Hope you’re all finding hope on your journeys. I’ve tested negative this morning. I had a euploid transferred on a FET. I’ve had ERA, used antibiotics, steroids, Clexane blood thinners, I also did a progesterone test on transfer which revealed 39 result (target was 50) so I doubled my progesterone

Anticoagulants and PPIs
Hi everyone, I have just had an annual medication review over the phone with a pharmacist. I am taking Apixaban 5mg twice daily together with low dose Flecainide (50mg x 2 daily) and Bisoprolol (2.5mg daily). The latter to offset any possible side effects from Flecainide!! I have been in sinus rhythm

Blood Thinners may reduce risk of dementia in people with AF

surgery changing my anticoagulant
UPDATE: spoke to prescription clerk at the surgery yesterday and she changed me back to Xarelto without batting an eyelid. She said it was an ‘outside agency’ handling it all and the surgery has no issues with patients not changing. Hi, I have had a letter from surgery re changing from rivaroxaban

Continuation of stroke risk after ablation.
I really don't know how I can explain this any more but I will try. If your CHADS2VASC2 score is zero and you are put on anticoagulation purely for the purpose of the ablation and post procedure recovery then anticoagulation may be discontinued once the three to six month recovery is completed, especially

Anticoagulation question
Hi newly diagnosed with paroxysmal AF and new to this forum. Glad to meet you all. It’s all been a bit of a shock and a whirlwind. I am now on beta blockers and Edoxaban. My question is, with a CHAD score of only 1 (by dint of being female) is it usual to be anticoagulated? Do the risks of bleeds

LINQ ECG monitor query
Hi, I am due to have a LINQ device fitted following a severe out of the blue cryptogenic stroke in March. Subsequent ECG's including a 7 day ECG have given poor results but not shown anything ie AF. I know research on use of LINQ devices has been beneficial in identifying periodic AF.ECG'S have identified

Silent AFib
Silent Arterial Fibrillation in a73 year old male with a normal heart rate (between 75-85 generally). Unfortunately it's permanent! Seeking advice from others in this same boat for thoughts of what to do or what they are doing/planning on as a treatment ? One specialist say Ablation. The next

Relief for Liver?
Have ET / JAK which treatment has been interrupted due to very high (4x) liver enzyme values. I have been on 2 mg anagrelide per day for several months with cautious results lowering platelets to 800,000. That caution allowed liver and kidneys to calm down from high values after 2 months on hydroxyurea

My diagnosis has changed from Lymphoprolific none nodal mantle cell lymphoma age 56 to more of a CLL at 79 years.
I would like to know other peoples experience with CLL. My lymphocytes went up to 270 and I was started on Acalabrutinib 100mg twice daily. Have been on this for 100 days, This has brought the count down to 8.5 . I have had atrial fibrillation a year before starting on Acal, so I am on beta blocker
