Angioplasty

I signed up to this great site 5 weeks ago as a newbie and put a short post about my history with heart attacks, I spent some time looking through a lot of posts particularly in relation to people that have had a heart attack caused by a blocked artery and then have angioplasty to sort the problem.

Exactly 4 weeks ago I found myself undergoing an angioplasty - 1 stent LAD, after a prior urgent referral and 6 days in local hospital.

I was diagnosed with CVD (cardio-vascular disease) 18 years ago and have had angina, 3 MIs (Myocardial Infarctions or heart attacks), angioplasty, a huge aneurysm, by-pass surgery, AF (atrial fibrillation) and medically-managed heart failure. I am now 72 and pretty well all things considered.

bicycle for about 120 km a week for the last two years and well my diet was nt the best (i am a pastry chef) but i don t smoke and don t drink on the 13 /10/18 i have done a heart attack just after coming back from cycling I was transfer by ambulance to the cardiologist unit in Dundee they have done an angioplasty

Hello all, I am ET jak2+ diagnosed 2012 age 57, I have been on hydroxy for a year following angioplasty as a result of this disease. I take 1gm per day but my platelets are still rising, increased dose is not an option as I am anaemic.

Hi, I'm new to group. I had 3 stents put in 10 years ago and now need to have another one - scheduled for PCI on 10th October. I have a holiday booked to Cuba on 9th November, I'm curious to know if I would be OK to travel 4 weeks after procedure or if I need to cancel. Secondly I had travel insurance

Each time stents x 2 via angioplasty. Second time, first stents blocked up and new stents were inserted inside old stents! Rare they said but not unheard of.

Trying to organise an annual travel policy after having angioplasty and stents 9 months ago. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you

I am still getting episodes of anxiety post HA and Angioplasty. I am taking Atorvastatin and I can see it’s a side effect of the drug - should I ask to switch to another drug or do all statins cause anxiety?

Hi I'm 5months since I had an angioplasty procedure and back into getting my fitness back.

I’m new here and it is my dad who had a heart attack at 52 nearly 17 years ago now and had angioplasty. My concern is do stents last forever? He Feels very tired lately and has to take a day to recover after a day out or playing golf.

I had a bi-femoral angioplasty 6 weeks ago and am still recovering but back to normal routine and work etc. This anxiety and palpitations however are new to me and I just dont know what to do with myself as I feel I am wired up like a coil spring.

Had angioplasty with three stents and am now feeling fine. Luckily no angina pains as yet and no side effect from my meds. My question is not medical but is related to my HA. My wife and i are going on holiday to USA in September and had purchased travel ins last January.

9 months after angioplasty left arm is paining often is there any reason???... regularly taking medicines... is thr anybody having same pbm??? how did you managed???

Had urgent angioplasty, stents and a 5 day stay in hospital getting home to Hampshire Christmas eve. The issue is that I have been invited to a family get together down there in the next few weeks.

I have peripheral artery disease which affects my legs so I am having an angioplasty on Monday. I was diagnosed with this 2 months ago after several scans etc and am told it is severe. I know it is severe as walking causes me a huge amount of pain.

Breathing- dysponea/PAH[ pre capillary ] has been ignored since MI still is even though had angioplasty to revive .Is it Microvascular so NHS disregard symptons using antiquated Testing to not address.Have I had a B - Strep one ?

Hi there Has anyone experienced issues with mental agility after having an angioplasty? I had stent placed in Sept 2017. I sort of get irritated on the phone when dealing with people and find it harder to remember than I used to before my heart attack. Any info will be much appreciate! Thanks

I would like some advice please I had a heart attack 2.5 weeks ago and emergency angioplasty. I rode my bike on and off for around 10 minutes today and now I have some chest discomfort. Is this normal? Many thanks Lisa

I had a heart attack 2.5 weeks ago and had an emergency angioplasty and 2 stents. I ride my bike on and off for around 10 Mums today and now I have chest discomfort and a a little pain. Is this normal or am I just being over cautious Many thanks for any advice Lisa
