Quite possibly the meds. Discuss it with your GP and ask if there is alternative you could try (If I remember correctly - which I may not due to my meds 😉 - people attributed the ‘mental fog’ to their beta blocker)
Feel the same to be honest, words and names just disappear. Massive struggle in my work life as I have to do a lot of talking and training. Have a medication assessment tomorrow will be mentioning this again......should I remember to!
It’s always good to check meds when you get an unwanted symptom, but the sad truth is that (I can say this as I’ve had three Heart Attacks) having a HA does mean your heart muscle isnt as efficient as it was. How much must depend on how big the damage is. I’m sure this makes oxygen supply to your brain less efficient.
I notice my memory and speed of thinking are effected. I also notice this varies from time to time, so, for me, I dont think it’s the meds, as they have been constant for a long time, there must be other factors at play.
I've been very aware of brain fog, struggling to find the right words or take things in as quick as before heart attack 3years ago. Recently came off Bisoprolol and on ivabradine now, though still having issues. I'm also a woman of a certain age, so it could be menopausal link too. No idea but frustrating as anything. Need lists and reminders for everything or I forget. Hope yours settles soon x
Yup. That’s happened to me, too. I’m pretty certain it’s the meds. Two years post HA and stent now down to 40Mg Atorvasatin and dropped Ticagrelor & Lansoprazole after 12 months. Left with 2.5 Mg Bisoprolol and the same of Ramipril & Aspirin. What I can report is that I now feel pretty normal. I’m sleeping better (fewer bad dreams) and my memory is returning with the brain fog lifting. With increased energy finding it easier to exercise too. So I’ve probably never been in better shape. That’s the long way of saying, my experience is, it does get better. But if it’s really annoying when you’re going through it and your Dic can tweak meds if it’s debilitating. Hope you feel better soon.
