My Mystery DNR
This didn't work and I had a BKA (below knee
amputation
) at the end of the month. At that time the DNR should no longer have been in place. I have confirmation it is not in place at that hospital.

Introducing Myself, Introducing My Pain
Eventually infection set in and I had a BKA (below knee
amputation
). Before the
amputation
I had never heard of "phantom limb pain". In the early days this was truly awful and I was on Oramorph, Tramadol and Gabapentin.

Stop The Pressure
I suffered quite badly with sores on both my bottom and heel in the aftermath of my
amputation
. What annoyed me was the fact I was seen a number of times by a tissue viability nurse. This was sorted when I moved to rehab by more focussed nursing rather than a specialised nurse.

Weight lifting with CKD (Stg. 4)
Over the last five years, since I was diagnosed with CKD, I have lost quite a bit of muscle thanks to not only CKD but also a partial foot
amputation
I had at the time. I'm interested in building my upper body strength back up, especially in my arms, shoulders, and chest.

ORTHO. CONSULTANT HAS LEFT ME IN SITUATION OF ANY MORE SURGERY COULD RESULT IN AMPUTATION!!
Unfortunately due to all the infections I have had, which I believe I got from the private hospital (possibly the operating room), I am advised no further surgery should be done, as it could result in the
amputation
of my arm.

Phantom Pain
I have suffered with this since a BKA (Below Knee
Amputation
) in 2020. The last few days it has tended to start after I go to bed. I am tied and want to sleep yet suffer various pains (cramp, pain in ankle, burning in big toe area). It may take a couple of hours to drift off.

Amputation?
Just kidding, new here and been reading a lot so thank you all. Been on ropinirole for 3/4 years now and it's not as effective (augmentation), so decided to come off it. A few weeks ago reduced from 1mg to 0.5mg for 2 weeks. Then I stopped, well I've not slept for 6 nights now and going out my mind.

Peripheral arterial disease-angioplasty?
The word
amputation
was even mentioned which is just terrifying. She has decided against the angioplasty because you have to keep your leg straight and this will be incredibly painful. Does anyone know if there are things they can do for this like a sedative or epidural?

After my
amputation
I was again anaemic. Running a serious infection I was not paying to much attention as my medication was tweaked. Anyway nearly a year later I was still on them but found out they had been prescribed for three months and reviewed following a blood test.

Can anyone help with getting my post read as I’ve sent it twice and had no responses. I’d just like some levo advice please
I’d so appreciate your comments because I’ve been managing Hashimoto’s with glandulars only so I’m a bit nervous about taking levo I’ve précised the post once as I thought perhaps it was ignored because it was rambling and unreadable. If this is the case with this third attempt please just say so The

Total shambles
The surgeon refused to operate on me saying I could end up dead with sepsis and might end up with an
amputation
if he did. No-one had ordered platelets either. I cannot walk I think the gout I have is being caused by the diuretics I take. I am despondent feel I have nowhere to go.

Struggling
Hi all! I haven't posted here in a while. I've had quite a bit going on lately. I'm going to try to be on here more, though. It's hard dealing with all of this myself right now. Recently, my husband was diagnosed with a rare cancer. I have a chronic rare disease and now I'm questioning a lot of things
