Amiodarone for AFib, is it safe?
If so, then I wonder should I just persevere as I am, or do I need the
Amiodarone
?

Update on ablation number three
The only thing that didn’t sit well was that I was given a loading dose of
amiodarone
which I had said I didn’t want as it made me feel awful. Through the night I was monitored and looked after so well and kept in another day.

Amiodarone & Bisoprolol
I am currently on 100mg
Amiodarone
at night and 2.5mg Bisoprolol twice per day. I am having sleep and daily tiredness problems which is side effect of above medications. My Doctor has given me Zoicone 5mg which I take when I wake in the night as it then gives me a good nights sleep.

Afib much worse after ablation, anyone else?
I fear he wants to put me on
amiodarone
, which terrifies me. Anyone else experienced similar after an ablation? If so, what did you do? Did these symptoms eventually disappear, if so when?

Bradycardia and Amiodarone
My Arrhythmia Nurse has suggested taking a small dose of
Amiodarone
(planned for Friday) which the EP has okayed with caution. My question is has anyone with Bradycardia tried
Amiodarone
as I have some trepidation with the possible side effects?

Strange feelings but only when I feel tired and try to get a little nap in late afternoon?
I am taking
Amiodarone
and Bisoprolol for A/F until I can get second Ablation when things settle down at Hospitals. Both medication give me sleep disturbance and day time tiredness problems.

Coming off Amiodarone
Hi all, I've been on
Amiodarone
for 12 months and have stayed in NSR after my 6th cardioversion. I was waiting for a second ablation but obviously that isn't going to happen anytime soon so the team have agreed for me to stop taking

How quickly can we come off Amiodarone
I am on my third week of
Amiodarone
, down to 1 tablet a day. It stopped my AF after just 5 days. I had it two years ago and I have had no side effects.

Coming off Amiodarone
My question is: Has anyone on here had the experience of stopping
Amiodarone
after so long taking it? Is there anything I should look out for? Thanks Paul

Ablation and asymptomatic/persistent AFIB
Go on
Amiodarone
, get my HR controlled and then have an ablation. I have read that AFIB increases your chance of stroke, congestive heart failure and dementia...especially if you have hypertension which I do.

Bisoprolol alternative
I’ve been on High dose of Bisoprolol which I don’t think is working, I’ve been offered
amiodarone
but am reluctant to change as have read lots of really bad reviews of the drug and the side effects sound hideous. I’d like to go back to the cardiac unit with some suggested alternatives.

Low heart rate ?
Prior to the cardio version I was also prescribed
amiodarone
200mg pre and post CV. I spoke to the doctor for advise reference medication as the CV was cancelled and was advised to continue as prescribed.

Failing Heart/Overactive Thyroid
When my GP rang to check they wouldn't treat me because of the
Amiodarone
! I was referred back again recently and had a telephone appt last week - thyroid very high and am starting on Carbimazole asap - the specialist said this will have been making my AF worse!

Berberine
I have read that it is comparable to
amiodarone
but without the side effects. It’s been used in Chinese medicine for many years for various health problems but they’ve found that it has anti arrhythmic properties apparently.
