I had ablation done on 10/7/2020 and am happy with the results. My afib started after heavy doses of chemo in 2014 leaving me with scaring in the heart. After ablation I was put on high dose of Amiodarone but it has been decreased to 3 times a week. In the past 15 days my BP has been in 120's/70's which is very good so I haven't taken any BP meds. I hope that the Amiodarone will be eliminated as well. Does anyone have experience with Amiodarone after ablation? And am I being too optimistic in hoping to be totally drug free after ablation?

No , apart from anticoagulation which few of us wish to stop post ablation many are drug free. I was for nearly eleven years before a different arrhythmia moved in.
I was placed on Amiodarone after my first and second ablation. I felt that it did me more harm than good and it was not keeping me in rhythm. I even think it created arrhythmia for me. After my second ablation when I asked to come off Amiodarone due to the side effects and was placed on Flecainide I went into sinus.
You are initially put on a high dose for the "loading period," and then the dosage is reduced as has been your case. If your procedure went that well as you say, it is very likely that you will come off Amiodarone.
