Amiodarone

Good evening - hope everyone's keeping safe and well. Has anyone else on here had bouts of vertigo whilst on amiodarone? No other side effects thankfully but the vertigo can be a little unnerving.

I was prescribed 200 mg a day for 3 months after my ablation and have to say I didn't have any side effects during the time I was on the drug .

Good morning - thanks for your reply - hope the amiodarone and ablation helped to rid you of the AF. Think I'm expecting too much of myself and need to be more patient. It's a long process and I'm perhaps in too much of a rush. Thanks again and stay safe.

I was on a 6 month reducing dose after admission to hospital for AF, thankfully no side effects. Hope your vertigo eases in time

Hi there - hope you are keeping safe and well and thank you for your reply. Hope the amiodarone cured your AF for good. Apart from occasional vertigo, no other real side effects so guess I'm quite lucky, really, when you look at the advice leaflet and what effects are possible. Just expecting too much of myself, I think and want to be normal again.

I know what you mean, oh to be normal again. I was ok for a year then recently had a couple of episodes which thankfully resolved themselves. Still frightening when it happens, trying to stay calm is so hard! Hope you stay well
